DH and I have finally agreed on the name [name]Lydia[/name], but are having trouble finding a middle name. I would like to avoid the common fillers like [name]Ann[/name], [name]Lynn[/name], [name]Rose[/name], etc. I don’t mind a name that is a little more masculine to balance the feminine [name]Lydia[/name] (although DH might not agree). Any suggestions? So far the only name we can agree on is [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Violet[/name], and we both feel like there might be something better out there.
Thanks for the suggestions. DH has already ruled out most of those names although I might push for [name]Madeline[/name]. I’ve thought of [name]Tristan[/name] after my Mom ([name]Patricia[/name]), but that has meet some resistance. My Mom middle name is [name]June[/name], so I considered [name]Juniper[/name] for awhile, but I got a lot of negative comments from family members. Our last name also ends with -er, so [name]Juniper[/name] sounded a little odd. Names that have not made the cut include [name]Reese[/name], [name]Scarlet[/name], and [name]Gwendolyn[/name]. I’m due on Decmebr 9, so I am hoping to find something soon!
I love [name]Lydia[/name]! Up until a while ago, my favorite combination was [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] - now it’s [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Gwendolen[/name]. I see both have been nixed, sadly!
So, you’re due in [name]December[/name], right? Well, you could use [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Holly[/name], for her birth flower, or [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Blue[/name], because turquoise and lapis lazuli are her birth stones! [name]How[/name] long is your last name, because I think a one-syllable would work if your last name is at least two syllables…
Wow, lots to choose from. I will run some of these past DH and see what he thinks. If it helps we already have two boys, [name]Sterling[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Jonas[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]. Thanks for all the suggestions! Anymore you can think of?
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] seems to be growing on me . DH thinks it might be a little bit long, but he hasn’t said no yet. Any other? Thanks!
Great suggestions! Right now my top two favorites are [name]Seraphina[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name]. Maybe it is the “ph” sound . My given name is [name]Angel[/name], so it makes [name]Seraphina[/name] seem appropriate although I am still considering alternatives. My middle name is [name]Mae[/name], so I want to avoid [name]June[/name] (too weird with all the months). Any preference between [name]Seraphina[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name]? Is [name]Josephine[/name] too close to [name]Jonas[/name]? Any other suggestions?
I don’t think [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is too close to [name]Jonas[/name]–the two names compliment each other. You could go with [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Johanna[/name], also.
No I don’t think [name]Josephine[/name] is too close to [name]Jonas[/name], and I love love [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
I also really love [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name] though so I can’t pick! But whichever you choose you can’t go wrong You have two beautiful names to choose from!
Maybe your last name could be the deciding factor? Does either middle sound better with your last name? I don’t mind the double a ending of [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name] but if your last name also ends with that sound, the whole thing could be too much and [name]Josephine[/name] could be a better option. If not, I can’t help you because both are gorgeous!
