[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are expecting our first (a boy) very soon, and while we have 100% settled on a first name, we are going back and forth on the middle name.
We are certain that our son’s name will be [name_m]Lysander[/name_m], and we know we want to honor my great grandfather [name_u]John[/name_u] with his middle name. But we are completely stuck on whether we should go with [name_u]John[/name_u] or Jack–we think both sound great as middle names!
What are y’all’s thoughts? I put both potential full names below (our last name is Champion):
I personally prefer [name_u]Jack[/name_u]. It’s a little spunkier and less basic, which goes perfectly with the unique first name [name_m]Lysander[/name_m].
First off, I absolutely love, love, love [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]! How exciting that you actually get to use it, especially with an equally awesome surname!
Of the two, I definitely think [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u] is the best. I think John’s softness fits perfectly with Lysander’s cool, calm, gentle vibe. [name_u]Jack[/name_u] is lovely, but feels far more energetic and boistrous than [name_m]Lysander[/name_m].
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] is a great name! I love that.
I think [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u] is perfect. Since you are honoring your great grandfather I feel like using his actual name is a perfect honor.
I prefer [name_u]Jack[/name_u] since it’s more modern sounding to me and I hear it less than [name_u]John[/name_u]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] by the way!
On the one hand, [name_u]Jack[/name_u] lends [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] a playful, bright quality. [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u] feels much more solemn. However, [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u] flows a little better (in my view), and the direct honor for your great grandfather is wonderful!
I would go with [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u], but both are great choices.
