[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there. I’m 38 +5 today, team green, and trying to finalize name choices.
I’m not nearly as far as I’d like to be on the boy name list but for a girl I’ve known since the beginning of this pregnancy that I wanted to name her [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. This is our second child and he/she came after a series of three early miscarriages. I love the bright cheerfulness of [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] as this baby has been a bright light in our lives already. We’re Christians so the meaning “[name_f]Mary[/name_f]'s gold” is sweet as well.
For a middle name I’ve thought of [name_f]Helen[/name_f], which means ‘bright and shining light’. Plus it’s more traditional. I do want something more traditional to go with our unconventional first name. I also dug up [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], meaning ‘dove’, today which could work nicely even if it’s less well known and longer than I’d like for a middle.
Our first-born is a son, [name_m]Peregrin[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u].
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any middle names for [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] that generally meet these criteria:
more traditional
two syllables
biblical name or biblical theme
Congratulations on your newest addition! That’s wonderful.
I really like [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f]. [name_m]Peregrin[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] go beautifully together. [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] is also stunning, but it might not fit your criteria as well as you’d like.
Of those, my favourites are [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. I still really love [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f], though. It’s perfectly balanced, rolls off the tongue, and goes really well with [name_m]Peregrin[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u]. Also, the meaning of [name_f]Helen[/name_f], (which, as you know, is “bright, shining light”), fits beautifully with your theme of brightness and joy. And I’m completely in love with [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]. Usually I can pick one combo over the other, but in this case I just can’t!!! They’re both lovely.
I hope this was at least a little helpful, and once again, congratulations to you and your family!
I think [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] is one of the best names out there, and the meaning it has for you is wonderful. [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] is a great combo too, I’d say you’re onto a winner there, but maybe you’d like:
Thank you for all the lovely suggestions and joy! I’ll talk all these options over with my husband but I think I’m really becoming set on [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] after hearing that so many others are loving it for all the reasons we do. Many thanks!
I think [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] is gorgeous and has a lovely meaning. When I first read the thread, I immediately thought [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], and as [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] means “pledged to God”, I think it fits quite well.
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Helen[/name_f], but [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] is a really amazing combination. The bright and untraditional [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] with the classic, but feminine [name_f]Helen[/name_f]. Its stunning.
I saw [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] which I also liked. Perhaps [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]? It doesn’t have the same flow as [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], but it’s still beautiful. Plus, [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] has connections to [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]. I’m sure you will come up with the most perfect name for your little one.
