I thought it would be fun to gather some of your lovely ideas!
Here’s the story… my name is [name_f]Karrah[/name_f] (pr. “cara”), but I have no middle name as my surname is long, hyphenated, and very Scottish. My parents elected that they were giving me a unique first name on top of a complicated surname and as such a middle name would just be complicating things (my sister also has no middle name).
However, I am getting married in Feb next year, and taking my partners name, which is short and very Greek - Xeros.
We were talking about it the other day, and neither of us like the sound of my name with his surname. It just clunks soooo badly!! So we are playing with the idea of adding a middle name for me as well that will help with the flow. I am quite in love with the idea. I have never “loved” my name, but I would never change it, as my parents obviously love it and my partner does too (whenever I complain he tells me how pretty and unique it is shrugs). So overall, I feel that adding a middle name will help me feel that my name is more complete, as well as change it to something that I love and think sounds nicer.
What do you think, me dears?? What MMs might sound good sandwiched between my name and to-be-taken surname??
For some reason I keep coming back to [name_f]Mae[/name_f]… although I am not a huge fan of it, but I like the simpleness of the sound… so maybe something short and sweet?? I don’t know…
I am open to all sorts. [name_m]Keen[/name_m] to hear your ideas! xo
Thanks for the lovely suggestions! Again, for some reason, I am drawn to the M names… [name_f]Marie[/name_f] sounds so nice (even though I would never say it was a name I really like). I think there is just something about how an M-middle flows with my name that I like… Hmm…
