middle name for Montague

I’ve had a crush on [name]Montague[/name] for several years, but recently became aware that aside from [name]Monty[/name], Tag can also be a nn for it, and now I’m really in love.

However, I’m having trouble thinking of middle names that work with [name]Montague[/name], and I think maybe something a little more modern might balance it out? And probably not too long…
Some examples that I was thinking of, but I don’t think work quite right… [name]Fox[/name], [name]River[/name], [name]North[/name], [name]Roux[/name], [name]Blaise[/name]…

Any suggestions?

I would say something a little more classic and familiar would be best in the middle slot. I think the names you suggested ([name]Montague[/name] [name]Fox[/name] and [name]Montague[/name] [name]North[/name] in particular) might wind up sounding a little like a law firm rather than a name. [name]Montague[/name] [name]Roux[/name] I don’t like because it rhymes (Mon-ta-gyoo Roo), and [name]Montague[/name] [name]River[/name] reminds me of… well… a river named [name]Montague[/name].

I’d suggest something one-syllable like [name]Montague[/name] [name]James[/name] or [name]Montague[/name] [name]John[/name]. [name]Montague[/name] [name]Charles[/name] might also be nice. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Montague[/name] in the first slot and I think [name]Monty[/name] or Tag as nicknames are great! Good luck!

What greyer said. Although I get Mon-ta-gue, I look at it and think Mon-tayg, and you might get that sometimes. Be prepared. Also for some Capulet jokes maybe. [name]Don[/name]'t use [name]Romeo[/name] for the middle : D.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Montague[/name] [name]Ridge[/name] or [name]Montague[/name] [name]Declan[/name]?

[name]Montague[/name]?! [name]Don[/name]'t know about that one. It’s outre. [name]How[/name] about, Montag, like the protagonist in Fahrenheit 451.
