My baby girl is due in 4 weeks time and my partner and I have finally decided on a first name - [name]Scarlett[/name].
However, we cannot agree on a middle name…
My partner likes [name]Grace[/name], and I cannot think of any I like! I think [name]Scarlett[/name] is too harsh of a name to be paired with the delicate [name]Grace[/name].
I did like [name]Ivy[/name], but as a nurse, I cannot get past the fact that it sounds like an IV (intravenous) drip.
Other names I like but not with [name]Scarlett[/name] are:
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Macy[/name]
[name]Michaela[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Savannah[/name]
[name]Shiloh[/name].
For starters I never thought of [name]Scarlett[/name] as harsh.
I think [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Grace[/name] sounds fine and I think [name]Macy[/name] would work well as a mn too.
For mn’s I like something with personal meaning, whether it is a family name or honouring an important friend, place/time (eg where you met your partner) etc. [name]Even[/name] if you just start with an initial, like using a ‘M’ name to honour your brother [name]Michael[/name], it gives you a direction to start.
I also think that it is important to pick mn’s with thought to the overall flow with the fn & surname.
I’m not usually a fan of [name]Anne[/name] as a mn, but [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Ann[/name] has a really nice ring to it! Also, what about [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Annemarie[/name]? I think that would be a beautiful choice!
