We have a boy named [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] (middle name is after my father). We’re expecting a second boy and like the name [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. We have a few choices for a meaningful middle name. Our last name is Embury.
[name_m]Greg[/name_m] is my husband’s father’s name.
Surnames in my husband’s family include [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_m]Cooper[/name_m].
My husband’s middle name is [name_u]Ashley[/name_u], so we could use that or a variation of [name_m]Asher[/name_m].
Would love your thoughts on the best middle name to pair with [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. Thanks in advance.
P.S. And if you have any additional sibling name suggestions for [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] we’re all ears!
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] or [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Gregory[/name_m]. [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is great with [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]!
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] are fantastic together!
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] is my favourite from your list.
I personally like [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m], I think it ‘goes’ with [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] and could’ve a spin on family name [name_u]Winter[/name_u].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] both of these names! [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] go so well together. [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] has a strength to it! I really love [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Asher[/name_m] too.
Thanks for your feedback! Sounds like Winter and Gregory are favorites. And love the idea of William and Ashton, I’ve added both names to our list.
Just found out that my husband’s sister has already used Gregory as a middle name. Is it OK to use again? And if so, is Silas Gregory Embury too much of a mouthful?
I might be in the minority but I really like [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u]. [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] is alright but the hard ending in [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] makes it seem a bit clunky all together. If your last name is Embury (as it looks like it is from the post up from mine) I wouldn’t go with [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] or [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] because of the repeating “-ee” sounds. I think [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] Embury sounds great together, very handsome!
Other first name suggestions:
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Orson[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_u]Elias[/name_u]
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_m]Cohen[/name_m]
[name_u]Seth[/name_u]
[name_u]Kai[/name_u]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
[name_u]Ira[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u]
Although I love [name_u]Ashley[/name_u], I agree that it’s a bit much with Embury. Same with [name_m]Gregory[/name_m]. We’re leaning toward [name_u]Winter[/name_u] or [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], which is my husband’s first name. Such a hard decision. At least we’re sold on [name_m]Silas[/name_m] as a first name.
