[name_u]Baby[/name_u] #3 is on his/her way and we’re in full baby-naming mode. If it’s a girl, our top name right now is [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]. We’re having a hard time with middle names; ideally we’d like to have a family name but are striking out. At the moment our top choice is:
[name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (not a family name but is the best we’ve thought of so far)

It’s very difficult to see the name [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] without hearing [name_m]John[/name_m] Cleese whispering “[name_f]Sybil[/name_f]? [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]!” in his peevish [name_m]Basil[/name_m] Faulty voice. But then maybe young people haven’t seen Faulty [name_m]Towers[/name_m].
I adore [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is an overused middle name however there are some great suggestions here already…and some of my own…

Thanks for the great suggestions and thoughtful comments. I think katieydenberg made a great point that a one syllable name works well with [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]; that’s one of the reasons we were drawn to [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. We know it’s a bit over-done, but it has a beautiful ring and meaning that we might go with it. We’re still scouting out names though, so who knows what we’ll ultimately decide upon. And of course, if we have a boy then there’s a whole other set of names to consider!

For one syllables, how about [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_f]Mae[/name_f]? Of course, it depends on the surname, but I rather like it.
