I’ve just acquired a little grey tuxedo cat who looks a lot like this (thanks, google images). I’m pretty set on Vesper for her first name, as the meaning of “evening star” feels fitting for a grey lady with golden eyes! But now she needs a MN.
I’m Jewish and she came to me right before Rosh Hashanah, so I would love a name that fits that theme. Apples, honey, and pomegranates are associated with the holiday, and it is the new year so anything about newness or new beginnings could work. I’ve thought of Vesper Pomeline and Vesper Eulalia (which is a subtle nod to Elul, the Hebrew month that precedes the holiday).
I’m also considering Lux, which is Latin for “light,” so Vesper Lux would mean “light of the evening star”. It’s a bit on the nose, but I don’t mind going cheesy for pet names!
What do you think of my options? Please throw other ideas my way!
