middle name Grant for a girl

Hello all,
I’m having another daughter (my 4th) and we decided on the name Emberlin. My husbands grandfather is very dear to him and his name is [name_m]Grant[/name_m]. I wanted to incorporate his name as a middle name for our baby girl (we will not be having anymore children and not trying for a boy) I wanted to know if anyone has ever met a girl with [name_m]Grant[/name_m] as her first or middle name. When I ask my friends how they feel about her name Emberlin [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_u]Riley[/name_u], everyone tells me they like it and tell me that it doesn’t sound odd at all. I just wanted more opinions (please be nice) before I make my final decision. thanks for reading

I think as a middle it could work, espcially since it’s an honour!

greyblue, I was hoping it doesn’t sound too boyish or odd to others

I don’t think so. Emberlin sounds feminine and names like [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] and [name_u]Finley[/name_u] are being used on girls, so as a middle [name_m]Grant[/name_m] works!!

I love it. I would consider using my husband’s name myself. I think it sounds fine and creates a special father-daughter bond.

My middle name is my moms maiden name which is an uncommon but unmistakably masculine name. My parents gave it to my siblings as well (2 girls, 1 boy). So all this to say, I don’t find it strange at all.

Emberlin [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_u]Riley[/name_u] is lovely!

When it comes to middle names I think anything goes really! It’s where you can explore and use something you may not usually expect to see or hear

I think its a sweet middle name and a nice honor. I know numerous children with either family maiden names or family members names as middles, even if it crosses genders.

I posted this same question on babycenter and got 90 negative responses on how the name Emberlin was “god awful” and “cringeworthy” they were fine with [name_m]Grant[/name_m] as a middle name though lol. not sure why the drastic difference in responses from forum to forum
