Middle name hang ups

Okay berries I’m being extra

But I’m trying to nail my girl name. It’s silly as we’re not having a baby anytime soon and I have this really strong/funny feeling that if we are to be blessed with another baby it’ll be a boy. I have nailed my boy’s name [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u] and I’m very happy about this name (despite last minute change up having [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] replacing this name for a moment I’ve decided [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is more us) still I’m a massive name nerd so of course want to nail the girl’s name!

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is the first name its middle names that are loonnggg and cannot work out.

If we don’t have a boy and therefore the opportunity to honour [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] we would definitely have [name_f]Christina[/name_f]. It’s the only ‘Chris’ name for girls I can get [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] (my partner) on board with. In a dream world it would be [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] as I love her.

Anyways let’s live in fantasy land where we have obviously have Lils along with [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u] and we’ve got baby girl [name_f]Rose[/name_f] to name. What middle names work?

Names I love and have been ruled out by [name_u]Joseph[/name_u]

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] ~ I love he says ‘Rose Clementine’ is pompous and a made in [name_u]Chelsea[/name_u] name. Is [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] pompous?!

[name_f]Christabel[/name_f] ~ love another way to honour [name_u]Chris[/name_u] been told no.

Theodora/Dorothea ~ he laughed at this one!!!

[name_f]Elora[/name_f] ~ sounds strange in his dads accent

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] ~ reminds him of butter which is beyond annoying as [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is beautiful.

So now I’m playing around with

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], Margaret* (and potentially [name_f]Margot[/name_f] + Maggie), [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], Laura/Lauren*, Leonora*, [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (KLAARA), Ann*, Kate*, [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and Mary*

I was wondering if you could create combinations featuring at least one star name some berry magic would be fab! Two middle names would be needed for [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

Thank you :white_heart:

Not extra! Or no more than most of us on here!

Rose Christina Sofia
Rose Christina Laura (sounds like Elora!)
Rose Christina Lauren
Rose Christina Sylvie
Rose Sylvie Christina (or Christine, tailored)
Rose Christine Eloise
Rose Christo Elise

Rose Mary Christina (get this is like Rosemary but don’t think Mary can be in second mn spot as sound like start of a new name to me but obv possible I live Rosemary anyway and prefer Rose Mary so not Rosemree)

Rose Christina Mariann (Mary & Ann)
Rose Leonora Chrissy
Rose Christina Ann
Rose Christine Ann
Rose Christabel Clara
Rose Clara Christina
Rose Clara Christune
Rose Chrissy Margot
Rose Christina Margaret
Rose Christina Clementine
Rose Christina Marabel
Rose Laura Christine
Rose Christina Kate

Edit: Had an edit here that has disappeared to apologise for low comprehension - was mid school prep/ drop off - saw once posted that it’s a “no Christina” request! And just to say my husband had a “a girls name for a girl who never had do to anything for herself” way of canning so called poncy names I liked. I get it!

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names as always! I don’t find [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] particularly pompous, but I’m also not from the UK. Maybe that makes a difference?

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]: my top pick! This is so elegant to me, and I think it fits quite well with L’s name. (And, with [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], they would all have 4-letter second middles – a fun, subtle connection)

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]: I like how [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] cuts through the sweetness of [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f].

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Laura[/name_f]: This combo just feels unexpected in a pleasing way. I so rarely see [name_f]Laura[/name_f] in any context around here, and it incorporates the sounds from [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Elora[/name_f], etc.

Round 2

Rose Bronte Margaret
Rose Sofia Marianne
Rose Imogen Eloise (but no stars!)
Rose Mary Eloise
Rose Imogen Kate
Rose Isley Ann
Rose Clara Sylvie
Rose Leonora Adelaide
Rose Cordelia Ann
Rose Clementine Kate
Rose Maggie Cordelia
Rose Sylvie Margaret
Rose Margot /Margaret Sylvie
Rose Marian Laura
Rose Leonora Kate
Rose Marabel Sylvie (Marabel honour to Mary and close to Christabel)
Rose Leonora Mary
Rose Laura Solstice
Rose Leonora Sofia
Rose Imogen Laura
Rose Mara Lauren
Rose Mary Clementine
Rose Clara Margot/ Margaret
Rose Leonora Imogen
Rose Isley Margaret
Rose Leonora Maisie/Mary
Rose Sofia Kate
Rose Leonora Lauren

Re Clementine - it’s big in Australia and somehow comes across as pretty but also no fuss and grounded - unlike say Theodora or Cordelia etc, maybe because the sounds are quite flat and tailored.

Ahhh @EloiseT thank you for all the thought you’ve put into this response it’s beyond kind. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Christina[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] made me smile along with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Christina[/name_f]. I also loved your list of non [name_f]Christina[/name_f] names [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Laura[/name_f] [name_u]Solstice[/name_u], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] are gorgeous! Thank you! Honestly your husband sounds like [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] he’s just like why are you copying made in [name_u]Chelsea[/name_u] with this name you do realise we’re working class blah blah :joy::woman_facepalming:t3:
Apparently my naming style is keeping up with the [name_m]Jones[/name_m]! [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is big here too but amongst posher people which is why he says it’s a keeping up with the [name_m]Jones[/name_m] name! I adore [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] but it’s a no no.

@VEL thank you for responding and I’m glad you find my names lovely (ultimate compliment) honestly I don’t find [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] overly pompous but apparently it’s a posh name. Also it’s a name a ‘black girl’ wouldn’t be called according to my black partner + friends I’m not sure whether you can put a blanket statement on the name like that but anyways they’ve all ruled out [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. Rather sadly as I love her. Anyways hey ho I absolutely adore your options. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is beautiful like I love her!!! The other two are wonderful as well but I know my partner likes that [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] and I feel like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] works wonders with her.

From your own ideas [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] [name_f]Laura[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] are lovely. I especially [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] combining two honour names together it’s a really pretty name!
