Middle Name Help: Cecilia or Cordelia?

I am 39 weeks and a few days pregnant with my first baby, [name]Alice[/name] _____ [name]Emery[/name]. Her middle name remains undecided. [name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name], and [name]Cordelia[/name] have special significance. What are your honest opinions of the names [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name]? What do you think of them with her first and last name?

I really like [name]Cecilia[/name] best out of the three and would go for that or even [name]Cecile[/name] which I think has a better flow with the two other names.

I may have misunderstood, if Emery is your ln then I would go with Cecilia because it’s gorgeous but if Emery is a second mn then my opinion about Cecile flowing better stays the same. Either way you have some beautiful choices and I don’t think it’s too C heavy, Cecilia is so sweet and sophisticated at the same time.

I like [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] a lot! [name]Cecilia[/name] paired with [name]Alice[/name] is a little heavy on the “c” sounds. [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Emery[/name] is a gorgeous name!

I really like [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Emery[/name]!!

I have a lovely Aunt [name]Cecilia[/name], and I do like the name. However, I think [name]Cordelia[/name] sounds best with [name]Alice[/name]. The C (S sound) in [name]Alice[/name] and the C (S sound) in [name]Cecilia[/name] (being right next to each other) compromise the flow. I vote for [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Emery[/name]!

I’ve been hung up on the repeating soft Cs in [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] for months! Opinions are split on the importance of all the S sounds in [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]. [name]Alas[/name], I go back and forth between [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name].

What kind of person do you imagine when you think of an [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]? [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]? I suppose I wonder if [name]Cecilia[/name] sounds more light and friendly when compared to [name]Cordelia[/name]. What do you think?

[name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name] has much of a softer & friendly sound to it compared to [name]Cordelia[/name]. [name]Both[/name] names are equally beautiful but I’d say [name]Cecelia[/name] flows much better with [name]Alice[/name] than [name]Cordelia[/name].

My thoughts, exactly!

I love both [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]! [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] might be a bit heavy on the "C"s, but it’s just too gorgeous to pass up! I honestly can’t decide, lol, I love them both the same. Maybe take both names to the hospital?

I prefer [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]. The "s"s aren’t an issue for me. [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Emery[/name] is breathtakingly gorgeous.

Bah, this is so difficult. Would your opinions be influenced with the knowledge that [name]Cecilia[/name] means “blind” + “patron saint of music and musicians” and [name]Cordelia[/name] means “heart” + “daughter of the sea” + “lion-hearted”?

I love both [name]Cecilia[/name] (though I prefer [name]Cecelia[/name]) and [name]Cordelia[/name]! They’re both gorgeous, with lots of old-fashioned
charm. I would pick [name]Cordelia[/name] because the “ce” sound at the end of [name]Alice[/name] and the beginning of [name]Cecilia[/name] make it
hard for me to say. By the way, I pronounce [name]Cordelia[/name] as cor-dee-lee-ah. Literal meaning isn’t that important to
me.

Good luck deciding!

[name]Both[/name] names are nice but I much prefer [name]Cordelia[/name], and it also avoids the sibilance (‘hisssss’ in [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]).

Everyone is so divided on the importance of the repeating soft Cs! I do find “[name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]” runs together, which I dislike, but I don’t find it’s hard to say. I tried saying the full names aloud in variety of ways and I do find that [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] sounds more pleasant and light. I even consulted name numerology calculators yesterday to help me with this decision! Ha, I need more help. I just don’t know which to choose. My partner is content with either option, so the decision is in my hands. The majority of family members prefer [name]Cecilia[/name].

We’re going with [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]! Our dear elderly cat [name]Dylan[/name] “Seahorse” passed away suddenly on [name]Saturday[/name]. We were surprised to find that her original name ([name]Dylan[/name]) means “sea” or “son of the sea”. [name]Cordelia[/name], “daughter of the sea,” seems so fitting, especially for our little 2012 water dragon baby.

Thanks for your help, Nameberries.

I like [name]Cecilia[/name] better, but I think [name]Cordelia[/name] sounds better with [name]Alice[/name]. [name]Alice[/name] is beautiful!

I think [name]Cordelia[/name] is a great choice. I actually prefer the sound of it with [name]Alice[/name] anyway, but the newfound meaning for you makes it even better. Congrats! (And sympathies for [name]Dylan[/name]'s loss.)

I like [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Emery[/name]. Maybe it’s just because I’m obsessed with [name]Cordelia[/name].

I prefer [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] slightly, but both are very nice combos
