I am just starting my third trimester and am feeling so discouraged about names. We had our first son’s name picked out really early and it really helped me to bond with him knowing his name. This time, we are having so much trouble. We both like the name [name]Graham[/name], but are having a really difficult time finding a middle name that sounds good with it and our last name. Our last name is pronounced Rum-lee. Any ideas? Does [name]Graham[/name] sound okay with our last name to begin with? I am really bad at finding names that flow well together.
Thank you ahead of time. My pregnant hormones are getting the most of me and I want to cry most of the time when my husband wants to discuss names. It doesn’t help that he suggests names like [name]Lloyd[/name]…
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Finnigan[/name] has a nice flow.
Also, Graham Theodore
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Louis[/name]
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Dominic[/name]
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Shiloh[/name]
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Lucas[/name]
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Isaac[/name]
I think [name]Graham[/name] Rum-[name]Lee[/name] needs 3 (+) syllables in the middle for best flow.
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Elliott[/name] Rum-[name]Lee[/name] is nice, as is [name]Graham[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] Rum-[name]Lee[/name] mentioned up thread. You could also do 1 syllable like [name]Ian[/name]? That flows well, too. I think you just want to avoid the 2-2-2 syllable count as it’s not the best for flow.
[name]Graham[/name] Rum-lee. Sounds fine. I really like the suggestion of [name]Graham[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] Rum-lee.
I agree with the idea that a 3+ syllable middle name would work the best since [name]Graham[/name] is one quick syllable. And don’t use (most) middle names that start with an ‘A’, makes the flow sound a bit like ‘grandma’ (names starting with a soft ‘M’ do the same, don’t use a MN that starts with an M).
Thank you all for your help! I am feeling much better now that I have some idea of what is going to sound good. We do like [name]Graham[/name] [name]Elliott[/name]. Does anyone watch Masterchef? That’s the name of one of the judges. Also, I like [name]Graham[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] as that’s my dad’s first name. Husband is a little leary of naming after someone on my side because he doesn’t want to hurt his side’s feelings. (Though our kids are getting their last name so whatever.)
^^ Well, you can only use one namesake at a time, right? Family names are important. I think [name]Graham[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] is handsome.
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] [name]Lloyd[/name]?
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] is great. I love [name]Graham[/name] [name]Eliott[/name] too. In spite of agreeing with the 3-syllable recommendation, I also rather liked [name]Graham[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] with your last name.
[name]Joseph[/name] is my brother-in-law’s name and not someone we would like to honor particularly. Although I have always liked it. Minus the [name]Joe[/name] nickname.
