So I’m not pregnant, but SO and I are starting to try to conceive, which of course gives me a reason to talk about names all the time. I thought that I was set with my girls name, but now I’m not sure I like the way it flows.
[name]Lyra[/name] [name]Carina[/name] [name]Davey[/name]
[name]Lyra[/name] is my all time favourite girls name. I love everything about it. [name]Both[/name] of the middle names are honouring people - [name]Carina[/name] for my other [name]Karen[/name] and [name]Davey[/name] for SO’s father [name]David[/name]. I really want to honour both of these people, but I’m having trouble coming up with a combo I like. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
What about [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Carys[/name] [name]Dee[/name]?
Oh wow. I really like that! I’m not sure about the flow with last name that sounds like [name]Alice[/name].
Another idea is [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Davey[/name] [name]Wren[/name].
What about using the name of your mother’s favorite flower or favorite gemstone? Are there any activities she enjoys (ex. gardening) that might serve as a good inspiration. The same goes for your SO’s father.
Yeah I’ve been thinking of using a hobby etc. to honour them, but I would rather use a form of their names if at all possible. I just want to see if there are any combos that really stand out before I start finding more obscure ways to honour them. My main problem is the flow. With the first and last names being two syllables, I need a one or 3 syllable middle name, but the ones I an think of [name]Carina[/name] and [name]Kerensa[/name], both end in a and sound kind of rhyme-y with [name]Lyra[/name].
Okay, makes sense.
Ooh, how about [name]Corinne[/name]?
[name]Lyra[/name] [name]Corinne[/name] [name]Davey[/name]
I also think the name [name]Avi[/name] would be a good way to honor a [name]David[/name]. Maybe [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Corinne[/name] [name]Avi[/name]?
I love [name]Avi[/name]!! Since it’s 2 syllables, I think it would sound best with the other middle name being 3 syllables.
I really like [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Avi[/name] [name]Kerensa[/name]! With the last name, the initials spell [name]LAKE[/name]. I don’t think that would be a problem though.
I love the name [name]Lyra[/name] - how would you pronounce it? [name]LEE[/name]-rah or LIE-rah? Either way, it’s beautiful.
[name]Lyra[/name] and [name]Carina[/name] are both gorgeous names, but I don’t like them together. The sounds are too repetitive. To echo sunshine.10, [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Corinne[/name] [name]Davey[/name] would be beautiful. [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Karen[/name] [name]Davey[/name] would also be beautiful - I don’t think you need to alter [name]Karen[/name] at all. If you don’t like [name]Karen[/name], then what about [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Kate[/name] [name]Davey[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Kae[/name]/[name]Kay[/name] [name]Davey[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Kathryn[/name] [name]Davey[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Kathe[/name] [name]Davey[/name], or [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Kaitlin[/name]/[name]Caitlin[/name] [name]Davey[/name]? All of those middle names share the same meaning as [name]Carina[/name] (pure), and are all different ethnic variants.
I also like [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Davey[/name] [name]Corinne[/name], and [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Davey[/name] [name]Karen[/name].
I do like [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Davey[/name] [name]Corinne[/name], but the last name is also two syllables, and I feel that all those 2 syllable names sound very repetitive. I don’t like the repeated long a sounds in [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Kay[/name] [name]Davey[/name]. What are your thoughts on [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Avi[/name] [name]Kerensa[/name]?
And I’m pronouncing it LIE-rah
Yay, I’m glad you love [name]Avi[/name]! Yes, I agree, [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Avi[/name] [name]Kerensa[/name] is really nice! Also, I like selenea’s suggestion of [name]Kate[/name] for [name]Karen[/name]. [name]Even[/name] though it’s not three syllables, I think [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Avi[/name] [name]Kate[/name] would be great too!
