Middle Name Help ?!?

I’m considering the following first names for our second daughter:

  1. [name]Alaina[/name] or [name]Elaina[/name]
  2. [name]Irina[/name]
  3. [name]Karina[/name]
  4. [name]Sonia[/name] or [name]Sonya[/name]

I would like to find a middle name that goes with these names. The problem is I would like to honor some family members by somehow combining their names. The names of family members that I’d like to utilize all of part of their names are:

  1. [name]Cecilia[/name]
  2. [name]Irene[/name]
  3. [name]Emma[/name]
  4. [name]Jo[/name]

Thanks is advance for your help!!! This forum has allowed me to go from a list of hundreds of first names down to 4 names so I’m so thankful to all who reply to me. Hopefully you can all help me nail down a middle name as well. Thanks!

I like the name [name]Cecilia[/name]. You could even keep it similar by using [name]Cecily[/name] or [name]Celia[/name].

[name]Alaina[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Elaina[/name] [name]Celia[/name]
[name]Karina[/name] [name]Cecily[/name]

And [name]Jo[/name] (not my style, but honoring a loved one is always a nice idea) is so versatile that it would work with any of your first names. Not sure about [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Irene[/name] with any of your first names because of the vowel transition, but I don’t think they would sound terrible or anything…except maybe [name]Irina[/name] [name]Irene[/name].

Well, I think [name]Irina[/name] could definitely be taken as honouring [name]Irene[/name].

[name]Cecilia[/name] + [name]Irene[/name] - [name]St[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] is the patron saint of music and musicians, and [name]Irene[/name] was the Greek goddess who personified peace. So a mush of the meanings would bring us to the Greek muse (if you’re not familiar with mythology, it’s easiest to describe them as demi-goddesses) of music (and joy), Euterpe, pronounced you-TER-pee.

[name]Jo[/name] + [name]Emma[/name] - [name]Gemma[/name] (has the J sound).

[name]Cecilia[/name] + [name]Emma[/name] - [name]Emilia[/name].

[name]Jo[/name] + [name]Irene[/name] - [name]Josephine[/name].

[name]Emma[/name] + [name]Irene[/name] - [name]Emmeline[/name].

Good luck! [name]Auburn[/name]

[name]Just[/name] thought I’d also point out that my step-sister is [name]Jemma[/name] with a J. This is a less common but also legit spelling! Like [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Katherine[/name] or [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Cate[/name]

I think [name]Irina[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Jo[/name] would be nice. You’ve honoured everyone bar [name]Emma[/name] too then!

Or [name]Alaina[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Jo[/name] nn [name]Allie[/name] because I think you liked that nickname!

Best of luck

[name]Do[/name] any of these middle names work or are they too much:

[name]Rene[/name] ([name]Irene[/name])
[name]Lilia[/name] ([name]Lynn[/name] + [name]Cecilia[/name])
[name]Emilia[/name] ([name]Emma[/name] + [name]Cecilia[/name])
[name]Jocelyn[/name] ([name]Jo[/name] + [name]Cecilia[/name] + [name]Lynn[/name])
[name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] ([name]Cecilia[/name])

  1. [name]Elaina[/name]
  2. [name]Irina[/name]

Are my favs.

  1. [name]Cecilia[/name]
  2. [name]Irene[/name]
  3. [name]Emma[/name]
  4. [name]Jo[/name]

[name]Elaina[/name] [name]Irene[/name]
[name]Elaina[/name] [name]Jo[/name]

[name]Irina[/name] [name]Jo[/name]

[name]Elaina[/name]

[name]Elaina[/name] [name]Joyce[/name] has a very nice flow to it.
