Middle Name Help

Hey, I’m new here. Very new. It took me a long time to figure out how to post. But I figured it out, and I need help. My husband and I are having trouble with names. Our first child’s name was so easy. We named her [name]Rosie[/name] after his mom and [name]Lynn[/name] after mine. Well, now [name]Rosie[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] is going to be a big sister. We are expecting twin girls. We have the first names figured out. [name]Laurie[/name] and [name]May[/name]. When it comes to middle names I have nothing. I want them to go well with [name]Rosie[/name] [name]Lynn[/name], and sound good alone. Their last name is the generic [name]Smith[/name], which is also important.

Thanks for any help!

[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Kate[/name]

[name]May[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]

To be honest, [name]May[/name] sounds better as a middle name to me. Is that not an option?

No its not an option. Everybody asks that, but we love [name]May[/name] as a fn. [name]Just[/name] personal preference.

I think [name]May[/name] is refreshing as a first and very sweet. I like the previous poster’s suggestion of [name]May[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Laurie[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. I definitely think [name]May[/name] needs a longer middle to balance out the short one syllable first and last. Here are some more suggestions.

[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Joy[/name] (I like this one)
[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Hope[/name]

[name]May[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Clarissa[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] (although you may not like alliteration of [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Smith[/name])
[name]May[/name] [name]Emilia[/name]

I love [name]Laurie[/name] [name]Joy[/name]. [name]Laurie[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is great too.

[name]May[/name] does need a longer middle name. The 3 syllable names sound best I think, but none of them sound quite right.

[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Bryn[/name]
[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Blair[/name]
[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Elle[/name]
[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Laurie[/name] [name]Wren[/name]

I like the [name]Mae[/name] spelling better because I think it looks more like a name instead of a month but if that is what you like go for it.
[name]May[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Scarlette[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Willa[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Sylvie[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Diana[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Colette[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Juliet[/name].
[name]May[/name] [name]Isla[/name]

I just found your thread and thought I would answer it as I have a [name]May[/name]…I think people are in the habit of using it as a middle name which is why they find it strange as a first but it is a beautiful first name. Our daughter goes by both [name]May[/name] and [name]Maisie[/name] and they suit her perfectly. While I agree that longer middle names- especially ones with three syllables work particularly well, my [name]May[/name]'s middle name is [name]Rose[/name] (after my very beloved grandmother) and we always get comments on how lovely it is. As you named your first daughter after her grandmothers can you do the same with the twins and your grandmothers?
Good luck!
