Middle name help?

Hello everyone! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I have decided on the name [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] if we have a little girl, we find out on the 24th, but I’m feeling iffy about her middle name. We had agreed on [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] [name_u]Laine[/name_u] as her full name. [name_f]My[/name_f] moms middle name is [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] and his moms middle name is [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], so we loved the opportunity to honor both of them in our little girls name. Now I’m unsure if it’s just my pregnancy hormones making me undecided, or if I’m just being picky about her name. I think it sounds super cute together, but I worry that it gets jumbled together when you say her full name. I know that she will rarely go by her full name, and when people do say her full name at things like graduations it is said slowly and clearly, but I’m still unsure. I need opinions from unbiased people, because my husband is very biased when it comes to using his moms name. Does [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] [name_u]Laine[/name_u] [name_f]Tinsley[/name_f] sound okay and I’m just overthinking it? Thanks everyone!

This was my exact worry! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband says he doesn’t hear it when he says it, but I feel like there’s times I do.

Jolie [name_u]Laine[/name_u] [name_f]Tinsley[/name_f] is a perfect combo :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I think it’s very festive so I wonder if it’s a [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] baby your having? I do see your concern but find that [name_u]Laine[/name_u] balances out the name quite well! Only concern but it’s a stretch and hardly noticeable is the repetitive L in [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] and [name_u]Laine[/name_u]? I don’t really see the [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] in [name_u]Laine[/name_u] but maybe spelling it like [name_u]Lane[/name_u] would be better and a not so obvious honor for your mother? I do see how it can cause confusion given how it’s just one letter off from the actual one!

Not a [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] baby, a [name_f]May[/name_f] baby! It’s a new take on it that you say it’s festive though, makes me like it even more.

I love it. I think that like you said, when her full name is used it will be used slowly and clearly, and I wouldn’t worry about it sounding jumbled. It’s a beautiful name and I love it to honor your mothers.

Thank you so much! I know a lot of people don’t like honor names, but we think it makes a name special!

I’m due in [name_u]January[/name_u] with #3 and all of mine have honor names in one way or another!

Jolie [name_u]Laine[/name_u] is very sweet!

Jolie [name_f]Elena[/name_f] could be an alternative

I get what you mean but I don’t think the double L sound matters.
Many popular full first names have that sound and work ([name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], etc)

Is it bad that it runs together? I don’t want her to grow up with a name she hates.

I like it :full_moon_with_face:

I think the name does run together slightly but I don’t think it’s a major issue. I honestly wouldn’t worry about that. However if you are concerned I do like the suggestion of [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] that’s a great one from @Greyblue

I think it is lovely and in real life we seldom say our first and middle names together. Sometimes an acquaintance may ask what our middle name is and we only say the one name, so I wouldn’t be concerned about the flow of the two names when said together. It’s a lovely choice!
