Middle name help!

I need some help with a middle name for our daughter!

[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Rayne[/name_u] or
[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_f]Maureen[/name_f]

[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Rayne[/name_u] sorta rhymes due to the long A sound in both of the names. What about [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u], [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u], or [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]? [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] seems like two different styles to me, modern and vintage. Maybe [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]?

I like the flow of [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Rayne[/name_u] better than [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_f]Maureen[/name_f].

Seconding [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]! However I feel like [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] should be short for something so when she’s older she can use her full name since [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] might seem too cutesy and whatnot. [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] could be short for [name_u]Delaney[/name_u], [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], or just Lane/Laine (like [name_f]Janie[/name_f] is to Jane.) All of these names sound good with [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] in my opinion. [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] sounds a bit out of place with [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] and [name_u]Rayne[/name_u] sounds too similar with [name_u]Laine[/name_u]. I hope [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] will grow on you! It’s gorgeous with [name_f]Lainey[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] because to me [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Rayne[/name_u] kinda rhymes and feels very wordy. I really like the suggestion of [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u].

I should add that I am trying to honour my mom in the middle name. Her name is [name_u]Lesley[/name_u] (which I dony like at all with Lainey) [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] [name_f]Rainey[/name_f] (which clearly cannot work with [name_f]Lainey[/name_f], so thought I’d shorten it to [name_u]Rayne[/name_u] or go with [name_f]Maureen[/name_f]. Having a meaningful middle name is super important to us but I’m trying to figure out how to make a combo of her name work

If your mom’s name is (spacing out for search engine privacy) L e s l e y R a i n e y I feel that [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] in itself is already a perfect honor name for her as it combines both of those names.

[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_f]Maura[/name_f] could also work. I agree [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] sounds great. Maybe some other LMR combo to share initials? [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] for example? Good luck!

The subtle rhyming in [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Rayne[/name_u] is adorable

I like the idea of LMR! It gives your daughter her own name, but still obvious how it honors your mother! I like [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]! Short and sweet! I slightly prefer [name_u]Rae[/name_u] over [name_u]Rayne[/name_u] in this combo since [name_u]Laine[/name_u] and [name_u]Raine[/name_u] sound really close and sounds off. Still love [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] on its own too!

How about Chesley to honour your mom? Lainey Chesley?
Or Gardenia seeing your mom’s name means garden of holly.

[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] is already the perfect way to honour L esley [name_f]Rainey[/name_f]. It’s basically a contraction of that name. I’d find another person to honour in the middle spot.

I love [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Rayne[/name_u], but agree with the commenter above that [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] is best as a nn. I adore [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_u]Rayne[/name_u] nn [name_f]Lainey[/name_f].

I can’t decide whether I love the rhyme-y-ness of [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_u]Rayne[/name_u], or if it’s maybe just a little over-the-top cutesy. I really could go either way on that one so I’m not much help there (it’s definitely adorable though!). [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] is gorgeous! :yellow_heart:
