We are trying to decide on a middle name that honors my husbands mothers middle name [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]. We are not a fan of [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] as a middle, so that’s why we’re trying to think of something else that can still honor it.
Our daughters name will be [name_f]Jolie[/name_f]. We’ve played around with [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] [name_u]Laine[/name_u] & [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] [name_f]Elaina[/name_f] but we aren’t sure yet. Are these any good? Or is there another name that we haven’t thought of to honor [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]?
Elaine means “bright shining light” and is the [name_u]French[/name_u] version of [name_f]Helen[/name_f], so that is always an option. I actually adore [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], as it’s a common middle name in my family. I find it so sweet and charming!
Some other names with similar meanings or sounds:
[name_f]Alina[/name_f]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_f]Eileen[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Helene[/name_f]
[name_f]Ilona[/name_f]
[name_f]Leora[/name_f]
[name_u]Lux[/name_u]
[name_f]Luz[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] [name_f]Elaina[/name_f] and [name_f]Elaina[/name_f] [name_f]Jolie[/name_f], its distinctive and very pretty. However, I dislike [name_u]Laine[/name_u], it sounds like you’re trying too hard.
Jolie [name_u]Laine[/name_u] is cute! I also like [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] [name_f]Elaina[/name_f]. There are already some great suggestions on this thread, but I’ll second [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
I feel that it sounds like you’re trying too hard to make it sound like or be relevant to [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] versus having it sound more natural. Does that make sense?
