[name]Hi[/name] everybody I’m trying to come up with some good first name ideas for using the middle name [name]Janet[/name]. i do not love the name janet, but its my moms name and I love her and really want to give my next child her name as a middle name. But I need to find something that flows nicely with it and I love . Does that make sense?
Bonus points if you can come up with a pretty flower name that works ok as a first name or has a great nickname thats fairly normal. My daughters middle name is [name]Magnolia[/name] and I’d love to continue the flower names with my girls but, given [name]Janet[/name] as a middle the flower would have to go in the first name slot and I am unwilling to go the two middle name route I just think thats too much when you dont really use your middle name anyway.
Names I like but just are not “the one” and/or hubby wont even consider
[name]Emmalyn[/name] (prob would call her emma) [name]Janet[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] (poppy ) [name]Janet[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name] [name]Janet[/name] (love , hubby dislikes!) I love the nn june, junie, junebug, and the option of JJ i think is cute! but he wont get on board with juniper !
I honestly love [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Janet[/name], it’s too bad your husband won’t warm up to it! [name]June[/name] is just adorable, and it’s the floweriest month of all, so the nickname [name]June[/name] ALMOST fits your wish for a flowery-theme! Your other choices are nice as well, [name]Emmalyn[/name] [name]Janet[/name] flows quite nicely.
Other suggestions:
[name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Janet[/name]
Lillabeth [name]Janet[/name] (nn [name]Lily[/name]?)
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Janet[/name] (again, nn [name]Lily[/name]?) - I love this, I think it flows very well.
[name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Janet[/name]
Good luck finding a name that you truly love!! I hope I could help.
My mothers name is also [name]Janet[/name], but I am also not fond of the name, so I am using [name]Jane[/name] instead, it’s only 1 letter off, and [name]Janet[/name] is supposedly a diminutive of [name]Jane[/name] anyway. Maybe think about doing that? I found it so hard to find something to flow nicely with [name]Janet[/name], but everything seems to sound great with [name]Jane[/name]!
Thanks for the ideas [name]Claire[/name] ! The ones I like :
[name]Dahlia[/name] [name]Janet[/name] (nn [name]Dolly[/name], [name]Lia[/name]) – [name]LOVE[/name] this !! Gonna bring it up to hubs !
[name]Marigold[/name] [name]Janet[/name] (nn [name]Mari[/name], [name]Goldie[/name], [name]Ari[/name]…) - ive thoguht of this too and its cute, but i’m afraid of “mary” i dont like the traditional names at all
[name]Camille[/name] [name]Janet[/name] - love camille but my sister named my neice camille
— hadnt even thought about the june/flower connection. I will be continuing to try for [name]Juniper[/name] I would be ok with [name]June[/name] as a name, but [name]June[/name] [name]Janet[/name] just doesnt sound quite right to me? I like a longer name as a full name I guess.
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Janet[/name] (again, nn [name]Lily[/name]?) - I love this too!! Going to add to the list to ask hubby about But his cousins daughter is [name]Lily[/name] so he will probably say no, not becuase we are close to them (we are not, even a little, in fact both our kids are 3 and we’ve never actually met [name]Lily[/name] even though they live like 20 minutes from us) but because he cant stand the wife / mom . But who knows he may surprise me and like it! And a lily is a flower !! I’m diggin it !
cecelia - this was THE name we were going to name our daughter before we were ever married/pregnant/etc. It was a name we both liked… but by the time my daughter was born I didnt love it anymore
kibby, had my son been a girl he would have been [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] for just this reason But i found myself explaining that it was for my mom and getting confused not understanding looks at how it was connected to her. I dont know. At the end of the day it doesnt matter what other people think, but, I just feel strongly that I want to use her actual name
