[name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] is lovely. I’m no fan of [name_m]McCoy[/name_m], but I do very much appreciate the meaning of it for you, so I wonder if you’ve considered using two middle names, as [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] would be lovely and might not be so lengthy either as you say you’ve a short surname?
I love love love love [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f]!
That being said, I also really like [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m], and it being an honor name does give it some priorty, and a 3-2-1 syllable structure is going to ha e the best flow theorhetically.
I still voted for [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] because to be it’s so sublime but absolutely go with your heart on this one.
I like [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]
Here in the UK, [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]'s is a brand of crisps, so I’d be hesitant in using it as the only middle name, even if it was to honour my mother.
I also wouldn’t use [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] with a 1 syllable surname, as I feel it wouldn’t flow well.
Therefore, [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] seems like your best option! [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] is lovely!!
I really love [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] which sounds spunky and cute, but I am tempted to vote for [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] as well because it has such great meaning to you. Those two are my favorites.
[name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] sounds very spunky, plus it has so much meaning to you which is great! [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] with another one-syllable last name might not flow very well. I love [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] though!
[name_m]McCoy[/name_m] is very cool for a middle name! It reminds me of the jazz pianist [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] Tyner
Thanks everyone!
I like the idea of multiple middles, and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] sounds great to me, but my partner feels we should just pick one (I think because our son has only one middle, and he wants to keep it “fair”)…I will keep working on him though
I haven’t heard of the jazz pianist before - I will check him out, thank you!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] again, thanks so much for the input!
Sadly, husband has gone-off [name_f]Fern[/name_f] as a middle name…ah well, maybe someone else can use it!
So the middle name options that we can both live with are:
[name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]
[name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f]
And he seems to be warming to the 2-middle name idea (eg [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_u]Reed[/name_u] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] (last name), or [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] (last name)).
Opinions welcome!
I love the addition of [name_f]Briar[/name_f] to your list. I voted for [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] but would also love [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f], so I do like the option of [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]. I think [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_u]Reed[/name_u] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] also works though, and has a good feel to it.
Thank you for the feedback! Yes he suggested [name_f]Briar[/name_f] recently & it’s growing on me. Ouch haha
I like the simplicity of [name_u]Reed[/name_u] a lot, but it feels pretty masculine to me (I usually like boy’s names on girls, but knew a boy [name_u]Reed[/name_u] as a kid & just picture him when I say it).
Leaning towards [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f], or [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]. Wishing we gave [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] as a middle name for our son, actually! But this is our last baby, so if anyone gets an honour name it will be her
Is there an honour name that you could formally add to your son’s name? I know someone who regretted not adding a family name to her first born, so added a second middle to the first child (formally making the addition was easy) while also giving the second child 3 names.
[name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] is stunning!! I prefer [name_f]Briar[/name_f] here to [name_f]Fern[/name_f], I think, even though [name_f]Fern[/name_f] also works very nicely.
[name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] would be perfect!
My middle name is my mother’s maiden name, and while I love having it, sometimes I feel it would have been nice to have a feminine middle name in there as well. With [name_f]Ioni[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] you would have the best of both worlds.
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] is by far my fave, but if you’re going with only one middle I still think [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] is my fave with [name_f]Briar[/name_f] second.
