I’m really stuck on middle names for [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. When we started talking about baby names, DH and I agreed to use [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] as a middle name for our daughter, as it is a family name. But I’m not sure if [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] works. Thoughts?
Other family names include: [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f], but [name_f]Anne[/name_f] seems so plain and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] as the same clunky ending I’m not sure works with [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].
There are also male names we could try to feminize: [name_m]Martin[/name_m], [name_m]Elmer[/name_m], [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]
Personally, I love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], but we typically try to use family names as middles.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]? I feel like it combines the family names you have. You might also want to consider having two middles. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] is one suggestion.
I think [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] works just fine! Although to my ears and eyes it looks better as [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].
I think that [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] flow just fine. And when you are honoring people you love flow is second to the sentimental value.
I actually like [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and here is why - the meanings together are quite nice.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]: “she who brings happiness”
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]: “grace” or “full of grace”
I’m one of those people that like the supposed meanings of names, other people, like my husband say they don’t mean anything and don’t care, so it depends on how you feel about that.
[name_f]Anne[/name_f] is one of those typical middle names that kind of acts as a filler, additive to the first name or bridge to the last name, but I don’t think that matters much unless you plan on using the middle name as the first name or nickname, otherwise the only name that ever really is publicly known or said is the first name.
I agree with you and don’t think [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] flows well, but it is not that big of a deal. Some of my favorite name choices don’t flow well as just a first and middle, but have to be said with the last name to roll of the tongue in a complimentary sounding manner.
