[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries, I’m in need of a middle name (or 2) for [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
Because [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is short, I’m up for 2 middle names but 1 is fine too. These are some I like:
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f] (too matchy?)
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Baylee[/name_u] (don’t like any other spellings but is it an overdose of double letters?)
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] (combo of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Louise[/name_f], my sisters middle names)
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] (does this go? Probably my favourite)
…Maybe [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] OR [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] (don’t know what I think of this, is the flow off?)… If the flow is off, how about [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]? Or just [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] (too much like [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] or do you think it could be easily pulled off?)
EDIT: Do you like Anna Isabelle Lily? Or Anna Lily Isabelle?
Like I said, I am up for a maximum of 2 middle names as long as they flow. Thank you!
For rhythm purposes, I would eliminate any middle names that have the same rhythm as [name_f]Anna[/name_f] - so anything with two syllables that stresses the first syllable. That would remove [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] and [name_u]Baylee[/name_u].
I do think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is really lovely! I like it much better than [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] (which may or may not be mistaken for [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] depending on whether the middle name got a lot of use). I wouldn’t put [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Belle[/name_f] in the same name - the “ell” sound is too prominent in them all. I think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] would work too, I’m just personally a bigger fan of [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] than [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] (just my preference, no real reason).
And I do think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] Amythest would be OK. It’s a little alliterative, but if you love it, go for it. The flow works, and while the end of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] does run into the beginning of Amythest, that’s not the worst thing in the world, and in many cases the middle name doesn’t see the light of day very often. Depending on the surname, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] Amythest [name_f]Belle[/name_f] might sound good.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is my middle name. It’s a family name, it was passed down to me from my great grandmother who was called [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], before any filler comments!
I agree that [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Baylee[/name_u] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] sound a little off. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] Amythest is matchy but if you personally do not mind that it is a cute choice.i want to like it, but [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] seems off. It just seems like you’re trying to say [name_f]Annalise[/name_f].
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is my favorite! I like it just like that.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] or vise versa is too [name_f]Elle[/name_f] heavy. Same with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f], and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. Seems like you really like names with L’s in them.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] would work if her middle name is not used often, but wouldn’t work for me personally because I tend to use my children’s full names a lot. I like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f], not [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f]. I chose against it becuase I knew people would think it was her full name.
If you’re going to do two middle names I’d do one shorter name with a prominent consonant sound. Like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], etc. I’d stay away from two middle names with softer sounds, if that makes any sense.
I love the suggestion of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! So stunning!
Here are some other suggestions…
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Lilian[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
I love your combos of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], however [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is a bit too similar - the names all have a lot of shared sounds.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is gorgeous! [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a family name for me too.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is very [name_f]Elle[/name_f] heavy again. But if you like it, which it seems like [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] are your favorites, go for it! I don’t know how often both middle names would be used. What matters is if you like how it sounds.
I vote for [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] just on its own. Its a lovely name and a lovely way to honor your sisters. [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] in the middle always sounds like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] Is a bell (or whatever first name its paired with) so it is not my favorite in the middle.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is lovely.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about -
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]?
or
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]?
Of the combinations you mentioned, I think I prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] makes me think of [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], but that might just be me. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is also really nice, particularly because of the reference to your sisters.
One middle:
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] (couldn’t help suggesting this, I think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] goes so well with [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f])
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]
Two middles:
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] (still has that heavy “elle” sound, but somehow I think [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] goes better than [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f])
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (or [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f], to make it a bit different)
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
I have a 9 yr old daughter and she is named after both her paternal and maternal great grandmothers. Her name is, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. She loves it and signs all of her school work using both her first and middle name.
While reading this post I noticed the date was [name_u]August[/name_u] 6th, that is the birth date of my daughter [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f].
I’m also [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] (sp. [name_f]Ana[/name_f], though) and I adore my name! I use it as a double name, since those are very common in [name_u]Brazil[/name_u]. I think it’s elegant, classic and timeless!
Anyway, I love [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], but [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is a bit L heavy. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be darling! If that’s not an option, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is gorgeous, very classic.
Have you considered [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]? [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is very nice and flows better than [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].
