Hello! This is my first post here, but I used to read these forums all the time when I was pregnant with my first. We’re now beginning to try for our second and I’m focused on finding a perfect boy name.
Our first son is named [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and has a family name for his middle name. Unfortunately the combination sounds very biblical and people often assume we’re religious based on his name (we are not at all). For our second we are really wanting to avoid a very religious sounding name and I’m leaning towards a name with nature roots. DH has a guilty pleasure of gothic/mythical names like [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m], Wolfgar, etc. (hard pass for me).
Our current boy favorites are [name_f]Willow[/name_f] (mine) and [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] (his).
What are your best middle name ideas for our names? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other first name suggestions based on our current list?
[name_u]Shia[/name_u], [name_u]Ari[/name_u], and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], and [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] are my votes. So maybe mixing those up to come up with a FN? [name_u]Shia[/name_u] [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]? [name_u]Ari[/name_u] [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]? [name_u]Ari[/name_u] [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]?
[name_m]Oren[/name_m]
[name_m]Boden[/name_m] (has a slight Norse/mythological flair)
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_u]Everest[/name_u] (nature-y and, I think, cute with [name_m]Ezra[/name_m])
[name_m]Julian[/name_m]
[name_m]Jerick[/name_m] (JARE-ick)
[name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u] (another one that might be cute with [name_m]Ezra[/name_m])
Obviously it’s completely up to your preferences, but I’d encourage you to go with a name you love, regardless of it sounding/not sounding religious. There are plenty of very Biblical names that have become incredibly mainstream in recent years ([name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], etc.). From your list, it seems like you are drawn to names that naturally sound sort of Old-Testament-y (ie. [name_m]Jorah[/name_m], [name_u]Shia[/name_u], [name_u]Asa[/name_u], [name_u]Ari[/name_u]), but don’t let other people’s assumptions stop you! Best of luck!
