[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! I come to ask for you help. We’re having a baby girl soon and we decided on her name. Works perfectly with our surname, not taken by anyone in the family, hardly ever mispronounced… Perfect. But we’re having a bit of a hard time choosing a middle.
So, I have a name-surname-surname myself, my wife has a name-middle name-surname. I grew up with my mum always calling us name-first surname (so I was always [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] [name_u]Howard[/name_u]) I took that on with my wife and I call her name-middle name (so it’s always [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]) and she calls me name-first surname ([name_f]Nellie[/name_f] [name_u]Howard[/name_u]). Honestly, with my history, I think I might do that to our daughter too and, if I don’t, my family certainly will.
But past that, both options will work with the surname. If our little [name_f]Anya[/name_f] takes on my surname and my wife’s surname too, she’ll be [name_f]Anya[/name_f] [name_m]Huntington[/name_m]-surname (we won’t be hyphenating it though). If she takes our middle name of choice, she’ll be [name_f]Anya[/name_f] [name_u]Waverly[/name_u]-surname. We love them both equally, so we’re stuck. In the end I think we’ll wait to see her and see if [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] or my surname will work best, but I’d love to hear opinions from you all.
Thank you.
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Anya[/name_f]. x
