Middle name too old fashioned?

Looking for advice on my baby name decision. Have pretty much decided on [name]Maisie[/name] for our second daughter, and am thinking of using [name]Maureen[/name] as a middle name. This was my [name]Nana[/name]'s middle name and I’d really love to honour her memory. We used a family name from my husbands side for our first daughters middle name, [name]Ella[/name] [name]May[/name]. My question is, is [name]Maureen[/name] too old fashioned? I know she’ll probably hate it as a kid, but I hope as an adult she’ll appreciate the sentiment behind it?? [name]Nan[/name]'s first name was [name]Patricia[/name], so that’s quite old fashioned too.

Also, any advice on [name]Maisie[/name]? I absolutely love it for a baby/child but am wondering how well it will age into adulthood. Other options include [name]Molly[/name], [name]Millie[/name], [name]Miley[/name]?

I don’t think any family name is too old fashioned for a middle name! My middle is [name]Louise[/name], named after my grandma. As a kid, I didn’t like being the only [name]Louise[/name] while everyone else was [name]Lynn[/name] or [name]Marie[/name], but now I’m glad I was named after my grandma and love sharing her name! I plan to use some pretty “old” names in the middle spot to honor special family members in the future!

I think [name]Maisie[/name] is really cute, but it almost feels like a nickname for a longer name. [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Maureen[/name] is not my favorite combo, because of the Ms but the rythym feels right.

I absolutely love [name]Ella[/name] [name]May[/name]! [name]Ella[/name] and [name]Maisie[/name] sound really nice together! Good luck!

I love [name]Molly[/name], but it has the same M thing going as [name]Maisie[/name]. [name]Molly[/name] feels less nicknamey but still very cute.

I absolutely love [name]Ella[/name] [name]May[/name]! [name]Ella[/name] and [name]Maisie[/name] or [name]Molly[/name] sound really nice together! Good luck!

Is there any such thing? I think not! I love [name]Maureen[/name]. Actually, I prefer it to [name]Maisie[/name]. [name]Maisie[/name] is a little cutesie for my taste. I like [name]Millie[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] better from your list. I think [name]Maureen[/name] would be lovely as the first name.

[name]Maureen[/name] is a little old fashioned but since it has family connections I don’t think it’s that bad, and it is only the middle name, she wouldn’t have to use it every day, but some other options you might consider to honor [name]Maureen[/name]…

[name]Maura[/name]
[name]Mairead[/name]
[name]Mara[/name]/[name]Mora[/name]

And I think [name]Maisie[/name] is adorable but if it were me I would give a fuller more ‘traditional’ name to fall back on like…

[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Margo[/name]
[name]Marissa[/name]
[name]Melissa[/name]
[name]Mary[/name]
[name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Maricela[/name]
[name]Marisol[/name]
[name]Marie[/name]
[name]Maria[/name]
[name]Marjory[/name]

I love [name]Maisie[/name] and don’t find it cutesy or childish at all! I think either [name]Maureen[/name] or [name]Patricia[/name] would be a fine middle name. My first and middle name both start with the letter C ([name]Cynthia[/name] [name]Celina[/name]) and I think the alliteration is fine. I also really like [name]Molly[/name].

I don’t like [name]Millie[/name] or [name]Miley[/name] though.

It would be cute to meet a little girl with the mn [name]Maureen[/name] especially as its honoring.

I don’t think theres a such thing as “too old fashioned”.

I know an adult [name]Maisie[/name] and she suits her name just fine as an adult! I thing [name]Maureen[/name] is a perfect middle name for your child! Im all about associating family names in naming my children. My mom incorporated family names with all my sisters and some are very old fashioned ex: [name]Barbara[/name], and [name]Dorothy[/name]. Yes they are very very old names but they mean something and for that they are special =) [name]Maureen[/name] is so pretty so you got that going for you =)

I think [name]Maureen[/name] is perfectly fine for a middle name, but not paired with [name]Maisie[/name], because [name]Maisie[/name] is sometimes a nickname for [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Maureen[/name] is a form of [name]Mary[/name] already. Plus, you already used [name]May[/name] as the middle name for your first daughter, and I think your second daughter should really have a name that’s her own. What about [name]Daisy[/name], which sounds almost the same? [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Maureen[/name] is really cute!

I think [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Maureen[/name] is absolutely adorable! I love it. [name]Maureen[/name] always reminds me of the beautiful [name]Maureen[/name] O’[name]Hara[/name].

I knew a [name]Maisie[/name] in her 70s so I do think of it as an ‘adult’ name but I am a big fan of a more formal name to fall back on and offer more choice in life, so why not name her [name]Margaret[/name] and call her [name]Maisie[/name]? [name]Maureen[/name] in the middle is fine but I prefer [name]Patricia[/name]. Good luck, lovely names either way but that’s my vote!

[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Maureen[/name] is beautiful! It flows much better than [name]Millie[/name] [name]Maureen[/name] or [name]Molly[/name] [name]Maureen[/name].
