I love my Great-grandmother’s name, [name]Letta[/name].
Now the big question is a middle name. I had usually thought I wanted a short, spunky middle name but now that we are thinking of [name]Letta[/name] (short and kind of spunky) as a first name, I want something longer and maybe even frilly for a middle name. I am curious to know if names ending with “-a” are automatically out because [name]Letta[/name] ends with “a.”
I plan to add a second middle name too, so please add suggestions too if you wish. Maybe the longer name should be the second MN? and a shorter first MN? lots of options!
From your list I like [name]Letta[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]. I also like the suggestion of [name]Letta[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. What about [name]Letta[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Letta[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]? I think [name]Letta[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] is stunning.
[name]Letta[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] is actually the closest to being ‘the one’ ([name]Clementine[/name] and Arrietty were just to show what style I like). Thanks for the positive response of that combo
[name]Letta[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] is beautiful… My grandmother’s name is [name]Margaret[/name], and my great-grandmother’s (my grandma’s mother) is [name]Letta[/name]. Would it be odd to have both their names?
I think it would be fine. I’m sure they would love being honored by your name choice, plus it’s just a really beautiful name. The only thing about going heavy on the family names is that you might feel pressured to do it again for your next child/children. All of my kids have family names for middle names and I honestly am running out of people who I want to honor in that way (there are a few more people, I just don’t like their names!) But if you have plenty of other names to choose from and/or feel comfortable having only one child with a family name, I say go for it!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Letta[/name]! I love suggestions of [name]Letta[/name] [name]Mary[/name] Clementin and [name]Letta[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]. I am a huge fan of family names.
