Middle Names but no first name :/

Yep, we did this backwards. We knew we needed two middle names though and we knew we needed one from each side of the family and OMG, it’s so hard to find a name from each side that doesn’t completely clash.

Middle name 1: [name]Joseph[/name] (from Daddy)
Middle name 2: [name]Lee[/name] (from Mommy)

Last name is totally and completely boring. [name]One[/name] of the most boring common last names one could possible have.

Our short list for first names:
[name]Arlo[/name] <-- my contribution
Oslo <-- hubby’s contribution
Otto <–family name

I’ve also been contemplating Oscar but I don’t know how many little Oscars are running around these days and Ezra. I don’t know any little Ezras (but I don’t know any Arlos, Oslos, or Ottos either.)

I do want a name we aren’t going to hear very often. I know like 5 kids my stepson’s age with his same name and it drives me bananas.

Anyone have any preferences? Arlo is the only one that doesn’t lend itself easily to a nickname which I like.

I like all of your first name possibilities. The only thing I would say is not to use [name]Lee[/name] as a middle name directly after the first names ending in vowels, as it sounds like they run together to my ear ([name]Otto[/name] [name]Lee[/name] sounds like [name]Ottilie[/name], e.g.). If you are using [name]Joseph[/name] and [name]Lee[/name] as mns, I would do it in that order (______ [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]). I do know quite a few little Ezras, but no [name]Arlo[/name], [name]Oslo[/name], [name]Otto[/name], or Oscars. They are all great names!

Cool names! [name]Arlo[/name] is a favorite of mine. I think [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name] is perfect, but I do like them all and don’t personally know anyone with any of those names. I dont know if you want any suggestions, but if you do, here’s some that come to mind:

[name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
Rothko [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Oro[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Osias[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Waldo[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Aldo[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]

I love [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]!

I agree with noora, they are all great names, but my favorite is [name]Arlo[/name] Joseoh [name]Lee[/name]. I also like [name]Oscar[/name], but not as much as [name]Arlo[/name]!

From the ones you’ve come up with, [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name] is my favorite.

Some suggestions (and perhaps repeats):

[name]Emil[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name] (my favorite)
[name]Felix[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Milo[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name] (the alliteration sounds fine to me)
[name]Simon[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Kai[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]

[name]Oscar[/name]'s fairly popular but’s slowly moving down the charts. It was only given to 1.09 out of every 1,000 boys in 2012 and seems to mostly be popular in states with a higher Hispanic population. So, if you live in [name]Maine[/name], for example, you might not have to worry about occasionally running into an [name]Oscar[/name].

That is the order that the last names will be in: [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]. It just sounded better that way.

I guess I’ll keep shouting them out and see which one is easiest. lol I can’t wait to see my baby boy so I know what he looks like. I cannot bring myself to give him a name before I see him! I admire parents who are able to settle on a name before the baby is born. I’m too indecisive! I’m also paranoid he won’t look like the name we have chosen.

[name]Do[/name] you guys think with [name]Oslo[/name] people will end up calling him [name]Ozzie[/name]? My husband and I are not a big fan of that nickname which is why we are hesitant about using it.

I have an [name]Oslo[/name]. He is called [name]Oz[/name] by some people. Not too many have tried to call him [name]Ozzie[/name]. As a warning, you will ALWAYS be explaining where it came from and if you are Norwegian. But we [name]LOVE[/name] our [name]Oslo[/name]!!

(blank) [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lee[/name]. I’m curious to know what the last name’s first initial is and how many syllables it has? I believe under lists there’s one for O names. I know there was a blog post about it in the past. I’d go with a three syllable first name to differ it from the other parts as well.
