[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I want to name our first daughter after his mom, [name_f]Gail[/name_f]. The name appeals to me because it hasn’t been popular in AGES and is a very normal sounding name. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is career military and hopes his children will follow his lead. We think that Lt. Col [name_f]Gail[/name_f] Goldstein is a more serious name than Lt. Col. [name_f]Paislee[/name_f] Goldstein. I HATE trendy names!
Our first pick for a middle name is [name_f]Helen[/name_f], the name of my maternal great grandmother. I’ve also thought that “[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]” which is my middle name and the name of my maternal grandmother would be a choice. We are even flirting with using “[name_f]Megan[/name_f]” which is my name.
Here are the choices written out:
[name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] Goldstein
[name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] Goldstein
[name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Megan[/name_f] Goldstein
[name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] Goldstein (I just thought of that)
What do you guys think? Any suggestions would be helpful [name_m]Just[/name_m] nothing trendy
You make a good argument for any professional career. People do judge a doctor, lawyer, educator by the caliber of their name.
[name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] ([name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is very old-fashioned, and [name_f]Gail[/name_f] is already a more old-fashioned name, I think you need to compliment it with the middle and not match it. That said, [name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] does roll off the tongue nicely.)
[name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] (and the accent is on the 4th syllable then altogether, something different)
[name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful (and meaningful to you!)
What about playing off [name_f]Helen[/name_f]? [name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Alena[/name_f], [name_f]Gail[/name_f] [name_f]Ilene[/name_f].
