I know both are pretty simple and classic, but my boyfriend and I love that about them. I’d love to use these names in the future, but given his relatively common two-syllable last name, I’d love middle names that a) can be used to fall back on in case they decide they don’t like their first names in the future, b) have three or more syllables to balance out the flow, and c) are relatively uncommon in case of paperwork issues, which my boyfriend has occasionally.
My current favorite is [name_f]Mary[/name_f] thanks to the song Sweet [name_f]Afton[/name_f] and the significance of the Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] in my religion so I’m focusing more on that one! It has the added difficulty of sounding like a nun’s name with a lot of middle names. Here are a few of my favorites:
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Elinor[/name_f] (after my younger sister-- he doesn’t like honor names so I’m not sure if it would fly)
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] (it makes me think of [name_f]Rihanna[/name_f], though, so I’m leaning away from it)
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] (probably a bit out-there and not a good name to fall back on, but my current surname ends in -mund so I thought it would be a nice way to honor that)
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
For [name_f]Rose[/name_f], it’s a bit harder, considering [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is THE most common middle name for a reason and it’s difficult to find a nice flow with it in the first position:
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elinor[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
