One of the names on my girls name list that my family and partner both love is [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandmother suggested [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] which I instantly loved until I went away and thought about it and discussed it with my other half. He replied "You may as well call the child opium field ", I nearly died laughing.
I am definitely leaning towards a preference for two middle names. But I’m finding it a real struggle to come up with good combos for [name_f]Meadow[/name_f].
You think meadow and ruby go together because I didn’t , it’s my great grandma’s name so I have been trying to find a good fit for that for a while. [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] - absolutel love that pairing
ha ha , yes I think that too, timeless middle names help it feel a bit less book-character-like. I Like [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
See that flow of [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Elara[/name_f] and [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] is lovely …Thank you very much for the [name_f]Elara[/name_f] that’s definitely a keeps for the [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] combo list.
I think [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] is gorgeous. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter goes to nursery with a [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] and I always admire her name. [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] is gorgeous so sweet, outdoorsy and packed with springtime energy.
Are you wanting to embrace a more bohemian outdoorsy flair?
oh wow there are some huge hits here - [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] Avalon❤️ I love all of these names separately and what i find is that my taste in names is such that when you put them together sometimes they can sound a bit too made-up fairytale characterish, but I’m surprised this combo flows and you’ve encompassed 3 names I already loved. I will have to ask other half about [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] because he loves persephone , and I think this flows nicely too.
I think perhaps I dislike pairing meadow with flower/ herb names - because I like the name [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], so I should like the [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] juniper pairing but I don’t. Maybe that’s the problem is that i have tried pairing it with too many floral names.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful list, it’s stimulated my brain back into action because now I’m seeing I could do [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] .
I think to answer your question , bohemian names appeal to me but bohemian overload doesn’t - I mean [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Flower[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] is too much, it starts to feel like celebrity names from when people lived in hippy communes , like [name_u]Moon[/name_u] Unit Zappa … we live in a small town and we’re not celebrities so it would just feel silly. I struggle to be on-board with names combos that don’t look like names i.e. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] sounds like a description of the [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]. I actually really wanted to use the name [name_u]Lark[/name_u] with [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] but found I struggled to ground it . The closest I got to something wearable was [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]Lark[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] which I liked but didn’t love, and [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]Lark[/name_u] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] but from reading other posts people think [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] is quite dated.
oh wow see , maybe I don’t like “princessy”, thank you this is helpful because I’m learning what style I like here. You have ended up with a list that uses a lot of the names I love on their own just not together. I’ve loved [name_f]Raphaela[/name_f] since childhood and [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] for years and years, and as I’ve said [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] I was desperate to use, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is also in my fave names list. I think [name_u]Rain[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u] fall into a category paired with meadow where it enters “Bohemian over-load” for me. At the moment nature is very on-trend and I’m drawn to these names , but I think about the future and it makes me nervous that an entirely boho name doesn’t give that child much option to use a less bohemian middle name if the trend becomes dated. I mean [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Zephyrine[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is probably the coolest book character or scifi princess I can imagine, or a great name for trendy young parents living in london or a big city. I think this is why I’m struggling on combos because I want it to flow nicely but also combine the boho with something a bit more grounded.
I do quite like meadow [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] I think that flows really beautifully
Yes , Yes…
Ok love that this list is surprising me. [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] Maagnolia Sky❤️ I really like this, and feel like I shouldn;t because its to M beginnings, 2 long names … I absolutely love it and I’d never have thought to combine these.
I also love [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Valeria[/name_f] - I’d swap out the [name_f]Posy[/name_f] for [name_u]Sky[/name_u].
I thought of [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Valeria[/name_f] [name_u]Sky[/name_u] while I was putting the combos together but didn’t want to reuse names… [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you liked the list. Good luck with the middle names!
[name_f]Meadow[/name_f] with either of my three top middles, [name_u]Rose[/name_u], [name_u]Jade[/name_u], and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (I class [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_u]Jade[/name_u] as individuals and not variants).
Preferably [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]Jade[/name_u] as [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]Rose[/name_u] might be too much.
[name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Lola[/name_f] would be cute.
so I have [name_f]Jane[/name_f] down on my list as a middle because it sort of helps everything else flow well, it’s reassuring to here other people coming to similar conclusions. [name_u]Rose[/name_u] is beautiful and timeless but I’d need the right kind of linking name to avoid it sounding to fairytale. Because it sounds like Briar-rose (sleeping beauty) which is super cute , but I think it would need a good grown up name to link them all together. I’ll definitey think on that because I do quite like it, I’d like to find a way to make it work.
Ahhh [name_f]Lola[/name_f] (lady of sadness) it’s beautiful but has such sad meaning. These are all very pretty - I think I overlook [name_f]Jane[/name_f] because it isn’t unusual but I actually haven’t come accross many lately, so perhaps i need to reconsider [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
See [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] I like which probably means I like [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Rose[/name_u] - Yes the answer is to break up the boho/ flowery with a classical name .
Although the inspo I got from this one is [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] which could be a winner. [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_u]Rose[/name_u] is nice , they’re all names I like so maybe this could grow on me once I’ve said it a bit more.
I think with middle names you can go a little wilder despite not being a celebrity living on a hippy commune. Middle names are rarely used. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter middle names are never mentioned and nobody knows what they are so I could have gone a bit wilder without any pushback. However I appreciate that when you have a nature name it can feel a little descriptive or a bit much!
