[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! I can’t figure out how to make a poll, otherwise I would have done it that way. I checked the box that says “Create a poll”, but then I couldn’t figure out where to put in the names. Can someone please explain to me how it works?
Aaanyway, which middle names do you like best with [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]?

[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] (this would sort of honor my father-in-law, whose name is [name_m]Pedro[/name_m]. I just don’t like the name [name_m]Pedro[/name_m] and think it sounds ugly with [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], so maybe [name_m]Peter[/name_m] would be a good substitute.)

One thing to mention is that the last name starts with G and is 2 syllables. This means my top two picks would make the initials NAG, which is rather unfortunate. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think this is a deal-breaker? My husband doesn’t think initials matter that much; he says people rarely write their complete initials, which I guess is true. WDYT?
I prefer [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] of your list. I don’t think [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] works really well because of the “K” sound in [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] or [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] from your list. My favourite middle choice would be [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] though.
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] sounds best in my opinion.
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] & [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] both have the “x” that I think is a bit of a mouthful after the “k” sound in [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m].
I have a bit of a pet peeve with one name ending the way the next one starts because they run together so [name_m]NicholaS[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is out for me…
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] is a good substitute for [name_m]Pedro[/name_m]. Also [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] or [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]?

I also love [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] but we have a family friend whose son’s name is [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], so that would be a bit weird. [name_u]James[/name_u] is my dad’s first name actually, although he doesn’t go by it. But this particular family friend’s son goes by [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], so we’d already be using the same name…it’d be a little too much to use [name_u]James[/name_u], too.
Any thoughts on the initials NAG? Should we find a middle name that doesn’t start with A or am I making too big a deal out of this?
I thought about initials also, but my husband said that it was ridiculous to worry about ! The more I think about it the more I agree. One of my choices of names for our baby has the initials OMG. HAHA! I don’t think it matters at all. [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is gorgeous !
When I was a little girl, I always thought I would name a boy [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], so that’s definitely my favorite on your list! (Unfortunately, DH vetoed [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], so that didn’t happen.) I also really love [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]. NAG isn’t great as initials, but it’s not absolutely terrible either, so I don’t think I would let that take all A names out of the running.
I do like the suggestion of [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] (instead of [name_m]Peter[/name_m]). Another option to honor [name_m]Peter[/name_m] - [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] or you could use a Spanish version of [name_u]James[/name_u] - [name_m]Diego[/name_m]!
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] is my favorite (then again, [name_m]Peter[/name_m] is my brother’s name, and I just generally love it).
Thank you all for the feedback! While I might like to get a little more adventurous with the middle name, DH is very into traditional names and would say names like [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] and [name_m]Gage[/name_m] don’t even sound like names (he’s a Spanish speaker and is not used to some English names). So we prefer names that work in both languages or are at least easy to pronounce/recognize.
[name_m]Pierce[/name_m] is an interesting option but I have no real attachment to that name and it just reminds me of [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] [name_m]Brosnan[/name_m]. I’m glad to hear NAG is not a big deal to anyone. I guess when you think about it, when do people even write down their full initials? Not very often.
My top 2 favorites are definitely [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. I will probably take off [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] because I’m realizing it’s a little hard to say with all the “s” sounds.
