Middlename for Meirin?

We seem to have settled on this name atm for a potential baby girl. Its pronounced [name]May[/name] [name]Rin[/name] - it flows directly with no particular pressure on either syllable. I suppose it is a “made up” name, but not by us - it features in several animes, which is where we’ve fallen in love with it (Fruits Basket, kuroshitsuji, Dr. [name]Rin[/name] ni Kiite Mite!, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED [name]Destiny[/name]). We suspect its an English name that’s been “changed” to suit Japanese language (like [name]Rinoa[/name] Heartilly from FFVIII - which is actually meant to be [name]Eleanor[/name], but was changed to suit Japanese language).

(yes we are turbo nerds…:rolleyes: lol!)

I was just about to mention Meirin from Kuroshitsuji. (;
I really want to like this name, but the pronunciation issues I have won’t let me. I try to use the Japanese pronunciation mixed with the English one and it comes out sounding like a mess. [name]Marin[/name] I do like though, which I guess would be the English substitute? Anyway, I think Meirin [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. Classic names all the way to balance out the odd sound of this name that I can’t seem to grasp.

RE pronunciation - it really is straight forward. Pronouncing it in English, not with any Japanese accent. [name]May[/name] [name]Rin[/name] (rin as in ring). said simillar to the way you’d say “[name]May[/name] flower” or “[name]May[/name] pole” (bad examples I know). As said earlier we chose this way of spelling it to make it easier for my family to pronounce it (as they are not native English speakers and this spelling makes it work in both languages).
