For the moment being [name_f]Alma[/name_f] is my top choice for a girl. And I’ve been trying to come up with perfect combo for it. For some reason I think I would like a name beginning with So-, but haven’t found the perfect match yet, I like:
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Sophronia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Soraya[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Solene[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Socorra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Alma[/name_f] with a longer middle that ends on a down-beat—[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Corisande[/name_f] is beautiful.
I immediately thought [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] would be perfect.
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Celestine[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Clemency[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] is such a beautiful and light name name. It’s very Scandinavian to me (Swedish in particular, but I think that has something to do with [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] Lindgren and [name_m]Emil[/name_m] i Lönneberga’s mum being called [name_f]Alma[/name_f]) and is very high on my own list as well.
From your So-names, I really like [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] but the flow is a bit off for me. I would change [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Solene[/name_f] to [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Solenne[/name_f] because I think that one flows better. Is [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] supposed to be [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f]? I think that [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f] sounds nice. [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Zenobia[/name_f] is my favourite. I love [name_f]Zenobia[/name_f] and she goes so beautifully with [name_f]Alma[/name_f]. [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] (though I prefer [name_f]Serafina[/name_f]) would come in second for me.
And some suggestions:
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Sofie[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (this would be a classic combination in Denmark, [name_f]Sofie[/name_f]/[name_f]Marie[/name_f]/[name_f]Emilie[/name_f]/[name_f]Amalie[/name_f] are the Danish equivalents of [name_f]Rose[/name_f], but I actually do think that [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] - or [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] to make it more international - is a nice combination)
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_m]Sol[/name_m] (probably too short, but [name_m]Sol[/name_m] is a lovely name/word meaning “sun” in Danish)
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] Solsikke (Danish word meaning “sunflower”)
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Sorcha[/name_f] (Gaelic name meaning “brightness”, pronounced [name_f]SURRA[/name_f]-kha)
Oooh! I like:
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Philomene[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Zephyrine[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] Chrysanthe
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Solome[/name_f] (though I think [name_f]Salome[/name_f] is better despite it being Sa- and not So-)
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] (you’re right, it’s sounds much better with [name_f]Alma[/name_f] with the e-ending)
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Celestine[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (though it’s a little short for my liking, but so sweet)
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] Elysant
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] Illyria
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
Yes, it should be [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f]!
To me [name_f]Alma[/name_f] is spanish and I’ve always associated it with morning and sunrise though it’s meaning is different, it’s just the image I get.
