We’ve reached baby’s birth month! Thank you to those who have helped thus far. Despite our previous poll having [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] as the winner over [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], I think we are going with [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] for a first name. It is less popular and we like the nicknames 100x more.
The middles we have for [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] don’t necessarily have any special meaning, other than [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] could honor husband’s grandma who is no longer with us whose name was [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], as [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] means pearl but we found that out after picking it as an option!
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is the potential combo… But we really aren’t set in anything and are totally open to suggestions/opinions.
Is the combo too old feeling? Or does that make it charming? I can’t decide if I want to keep with old charm I love or add in some quirkiness to spruce it up.
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is nice. I don’t like [name_f]Esther[/name_f], but it sounds good with [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f].
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Annelie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Enid[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Erica[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Essie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Enna[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] (I saw this on your signature ant it’s a 10/10)
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Elinor[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Daniela[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] to [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] but both are nice.
I love [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]! I also really like [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u], and despite being another old-fashioned name like [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], I feel like [name_u]Lou[/name_u] has a bit more spunk and youthfulness to it. It feels a bit more cheeky, quirky and informal than the very prim and dainty-feeling [name_f]Pearl[/name_f].
[name_m]How[/name_m] about something like [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]/[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f] to quirk it up even more?
This is an interesting one. I don’t think you can really improve on [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], but for some reason [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] doesn’t feel quite ‘done’ to me? It may be the very similar feels - vintage, soft - and sounds - “th”, “ah”, “e”. [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] strikes me as a hard name to find a good middle for actually. But I may be overthinking it - Dorothea Esther Pearl is stunningly beautiful in any case.
If you’re willing to mix around your combo, Dorothea Betsy Pearl works great!
