[name]Hazel[/name] seems popular on Nameberry but I am hoping in the real world it is not. I am kind of swooning over it and keep going back to the name. I also feel like it goes with all of our boy combos. I found a few middles for the name but would love your opinions and other suggestions.
My favorites out of your combinations are [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name]
I do love [name]June[/name] as well but not with [name]Marie[/name], sorry.
brynie- Thank you for your input! From the new combos you suggested I like [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name] [name]June[/name] and slightly [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Emerson[/name].
happymama1- I have never met a [name]Hazel[/name] in real life and I live in [name]New[/name] [name]York[/name] so maybe not a common name around my area?
I know the most popular names in my state ([name]California[/name]) are not nearly the same as they are nationwide; I’d imagine it’s the same for [name]New[/name] [name]York[/name]. [name]Hazel[/name]'s not in the top 100 names for girls in [name]New[/name] [name]York[/name] state, and ranked #175 nationally.
Of your combinations, I like [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name] the most. The only one I don’t like is [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Marie[/name]. [name]Marie[/name]'s will be a “mom” middle by the time your little one is in elementary school, and both [name]Hazel[/name] and [name]Marie[/name] are both 2 syllables and 5 letters long, which makes the combination feel sing-songy. Maybe [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Mariam[/name] or [name]Hazel[/name] [name]May[/name] ([name]Mae[/name]) instead?
Have you heard of the book 'The Fault is in Our Stars"? It’s a YA novel, and the heroine’s name is [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. I thought it was a pretty combination. Other suggestions…
I think after looking at it I agree with you about [name]Marie[/name]. I like [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Grace[/name] but I may want a longer in the middle with short [name]Hazel[/name] or two middles. Although [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Elodie[/name] is very pretty!
Others I came up with…
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Marcheline[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
Hazel Imogen
Hazel Imogen Ruby
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Marie[/name] would go nicely together! The “el” and “e” endings together make the name flow together nicely.
Some others could be:
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Christine[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
@stormshine- I like [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] from the ones you suggested but not sure my boyfriend would go for [name]Clementine[/name]. I think he feels its country-ish.
southernbeauty- Thank you for your suggestions!
After getting some suggestions and hearing opinions i am definitely going to see which ones my boyfriend likes to break it down some more.
I have never met any little [name]Hazel[/name]'s. I think it is a name that is pretty popular on nameberry but not so much in the “real world”, well, at least not in the southwest U.S. it’s not popular. I especially like your combo of [name]Hazel[/name] [name]June[/name] [name]Marie[/name], it’s stunning!
[name]Do[/name] you berries pronounce [name]Rosalind[/name] like [name]Roz[/name]-a-lind or [name]Rose[/name]-a-lind? Or is the spelling [name]Roselind[/name] pronounced [name]Rose[/name]-a-lind? I like the sound of [name]Rose[/name]-a-lind better than [name]Roz[/name]-a-lind. But want to make sure I saying it correctly.
@jtucker- Me either! And I am really loving the name along with my boyfriend. And to get my boyfriend to agree on a name is almost impossible so this is a miracle. Plus it goes with all of our boy choices which that list is out of control at the moment compared to the girls list. Thank you for suggesting one!
The reason I say it is popular is because it was 45 out of 100 in [name]Portland[/name], OR last year. It was/is our top name for our girl that is due soon and it is a family name but I am hearing it more and more (maybe because I am paying more attention). My friends in the midwest are hearing it a lot more too. I just see it as a name that will continue to grow in popularity because those vintage names are really in style right now and a lot of people like it, including on here. When are you due? Good luck deciding!
I always have trouble coming up with a middle for [name]Hazel[/name] has I feel so many letters clash with the -zel ending of [name]Hazel[/name].
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]June[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - Nice enough, however the -zel in [name]Hazel[/name] and -[name]Jun[/name] in [name]June[/name] tend to clash when I say it all together.
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name] - I find the -zel and Ser- to clash.
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name] - as above.
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name] - To sing song-y, at least it my opinion.
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] - zel and Jul- clash in my voice.
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - perfect.
I pronounce [name]Rosalind[/name] as rose-uh-lind. I have a feeling it’s not correct however.
@happymama1- Totally understandable. So far we have not come across one. And I guess I am learning to go with what I love vs. popularity. Or settling for a name that I do not truly love because it may not be popular. I am not pregnant yet we are TTC now. But [name]Hazel[/name] has been on my list for months and both [name]June[/name] and [name]Marie[/name] are meaningful which is why I love the two together and considered two middles. The whole combo [name]Hazel[/name] [name]June[/name] [name]Marie[/name] has been on our list for months. And I keep going back to it. But I came across other romantic sounding names which I love as well.
@[name]Rollo[/name]- My friend just picked [name]Ann[/name] for her daughters middle so I would feel totally weird using it and its not really my style.
@fiammetta- I think I am pronouncing it wrong as well. If its [name]ROZ[/name]-a-lind I don’t think I would use it because of the Z in [name]Hazel[/name]. That sounds too matchy for me. I can see where you are coming from with the clashing when you say the name. [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Marie[/name] has a flow. But I am not sure if I want two short names. I do love [name]Marie[/name] and I know it is known as a filler but I just love how it happens to be my “middle” as well. Its a double edged sword. Tough choices to make! My mind also keeps going back to [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name] over [name]Seraphina[/name].
