Hey y’all~
I was working on middles for two names on my list, [name_f]Maris[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]. I’ve actually narrowed them down on my own (shocker!) to just a few middles and would like some input on what you think works best (or works best for me). Are any of them objectively better than another? Which do you prefer and why?
Note: I had been pronouncing [name_f]Maris[/name_f] like mah-REESE but have also been pronouncing it like MAR-iss (rhymes with car) lately so… I like both and haven’t decided which I would default to
[name_f]Maris[/name_f] [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] <-I feel like this spelling maybe looks nicer / more balanced?
[name_f]Maris[/name_f] [name_f]Kassandra[/name_f] <-I do like the hard edge of this spelling and it has this ancient Greek / Latin vibe that I dig
[name_f]Maris[/name_f] [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] <-I love [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] and can’t decide between this and C/Kassandra
Note: I pronounce [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] with a -leen ending. I honestly love all four of these about equally! I predict [name_f]Iris[/name_f] may be the most popular and [name_f]Aimee[/name_f] the least popular because those names are in/out of style but that kind of thing doesn’t really bother me.
[name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Aimee[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_u]Promise[/name_u]
With [name_f]Maris[/name_f], I think I like [name_f]Kassandra[/name_f] best. That harder, spikier look it just works but it also has as much magic as [name_f]Maris[/name_f]!
For [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], I like [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Aimee[/name_f] best
[name_f]Aimee[/name_f] is a fave of mine and I like how the vibe is both sharp and sweet.
[name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is nice too, but a bit too floral for me; [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is very atmospheric and charming; [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_u]Promise[/name_u] does feel Shakespearean - I just like [name_f]Aimee[/name_f] better than all of those
For [name_f]Maris[/name_f], [name_f]Kassandra[/name_f] is my favorite, though I really like all of your combos. [name_f]Maris[/name_f] [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] is beautiful, but I appreciate the contrast that C/Kassandra’s hard /k/ sound provides with the softer sounds of [name_f]Maris[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Kassandra[/name_f] looks nicer visually with the sharp K in it.
For [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is my favorite! The flow is great and [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] has the most beautiful orange and red autumnal imagery. I like that [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is familiar yet unexpected and I just think it both sounds and looks really nice with [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Maris[/name_f] [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Aimee[/name_f] best.
[name_f]Maris[/name_f] [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Aimee[/name_f] or [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] (Aimee hoes better with [name_f]Maris[/name_f] Vanessa)
(FWIW, I would have naturally pronounced MAAR-us (long A) and [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] with a LYNE ending but otherwise LYN, not sure I’ve heard as LEEN.)
