Continuing to workshop our shortlist! We realised that despite being pretty sure of our favourite boy, [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] āPipā, we are pretty much nowhere with middles for him.
[name_f][/name_f]
This is largely because of two factors: 1) most of the boy names my husband likes end in -n, and he doesnāt want to give [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] another -n ending name as a middle; 2) he thinks of [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] as slightly āout thereā and doesnāt want middles on the more GP end of the spectrum. Unlike me, who would happily use [name_m]Bonaventure[/name_m] or [name_f]October[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]So[/name_f], lovely berries, can you please give me your middle ideas for [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] which ~
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
are more traditional, or at least no more unusual, than [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] himself
There should be more Peregrines! I love seeing it used. [name_f]My[/name_f] friend who has a [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] had a hard time with middles too. [name_m]Her[/name_m] [name_m]Pippin[/name_m] ended up with two family middles, the first of which is W e s l e y, which I think is so handsome. Also more well-known, and also literary! [name_m]Westley[/name_m], if you wanted to go more [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Bride[/name_f]
Iām realizing how many literary boyās names end in -n! (Holden, [name_m]Dorian[/name_m], etcā¦)
[name_f][/name_f]
Some more ideas: [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Darcy[/name_f] (pride and prejudice) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Lowry[/name_m] (author lois lowry⦠maybe too unusual, but it sounds nice with peregrine!) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Wilbur[/name_m] (charlotteās web ā he is[name_f][/name_f] a pig, but a very endearing pig!) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Bennet[/name_m] / [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] (pride and prejudice again) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Casper[/name_m] / [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Ellis[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Heath[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Louis[/name_m] (either pronunciation) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Wells[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f]
Good luck! [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] āPipā is so cute! [name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] āPipā is absolutely fabulous
[name_f][/name_f]
I love bold combos but for my own children we also went for a balance between unusual and classic across the first and middle name. I think more traditional middles can make a bold first name really shine, and also feel a little more grounded/versatile.
[name_f][/name_f]
I adore so many of the suggestions above (personal faves with [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]: [name_f]Darcy[/name_f], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Jules[/name_m], Ivo). Trying not to repeat anyā¦
@auroradawn[name_f][/name_f] aww P3regrine W3sley is so adorable! Iād happily use that, I donāt think my other half is a fan, but so glad there is one in the world!
[name_f][/name_f]
@zoedandelion[name_f][/name_f] I know, so much N! [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is definitely on the list, [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is great but we also like them for sib names. Also like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f]
@Greyblue[name_f][/name_f] really loving [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and [name_m]Jules[/name_m]! I know husband likes [name_m]Felix[/name_m], so that might be a good option!
[name_f][/name_f]
@southern.maple[name_f][/name_f] I like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Ivo[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m], [name_m]Jules[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f]
@katinka[name_f][/name_f] I do love your names, and agree the contrast can absolutely make a combo! [name_m]Loving[/name_m] [name_m]Wilde[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] (an old love of ours but he seems to have gone off itā¦maybe we can bring him back into consideration ), [name_m]Emrys[/name_m], [name_m]Hart[/name_m] (we actually love [name_m]Hart[/name_m] for a second middle, after whatever else we decide goes next ), [name_m]Laurie[/name_m], and Jago!! such a fave of mine!
[name_f][/name_f]
@Victory55[name_f][/name_f] liking [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], [name_m]August[/name_m], [name_m]Lawrence[/name_m], and [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]!
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Hardy[/name_m] (as in [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Hardy[/name_m] or the [name_m]Hardy[/name_m] Boys) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Laurence[/name_m] (as in [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Laurence[/name_m] from [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Lowell[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Bennet[/name_m] (as in [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] Bennet) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Fitz[/name_m] (as in [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m] Darcy) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Jay[/name_m] (as in [name_m]Jay[/name_m] [name_m]Gatsby[/name_m], although this might be a bit too bird-y) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Victor[/name_m] (as in [name_m]Victor[/name_m] Frankenstein) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Hector[/name_m] (from [name_m]The[/name_m] Iliad)
[name_m]Not[/name_m] at all related but I miss so much the days when she was here [name_f][/name_f]. Iāve always loved her Pippinās name!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Aalto[/name_m] [name_m]Grey[/name_m] has been on my radar for a while, @persephonescrown[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f], but I donāt suppose [name_m]Aalto[/name_m] is more familiar than [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f]
Hereās some random ideas, hopefully at least a few appeal!
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] (one of my favorite berries had the reverse of this on her list years agoāIāve always loved the pairing @orangeblossom[name_f][/name_f] tagging you just for funsies, Alice!)
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Roland[/name_m] (too close to an N ending?)
@shanade213[name_f][/name_f] thanks, liking [name_m]Laurence[/name_m], [name_m]Forrest[/name_m], and [name_m]Victor[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f]
@Hello1[name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Ludo[/name_m] is very chic! I like [name_m]Cedric[/name_m], love [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] but husband isnāt keen. [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] has also been on my radar but a friendās little boy has it in the middle so not sure we can use it [name_f][/name_f] Thanks for the ideas!
[name_f][/name_f]
@autumnreverie[name_f][/name_f] thank you, love [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], also quite keen on [name_m]Keats[/name_m] and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f]
@user10[name_f][/name_f] thanks, [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is so dashing! Also liking [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f]
@ashthedreamer[name_f][/name_f] ooh, [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Aalto[/name_m] [name_m]Grey[/name_m] is very distinguished (but yes doubt Iāll get husband on board with [name_m]Aalto[/name_m] ). I totally agree about an O name suiting him! [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] is great with P but our besties have a little [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], and we also have a [name_m]Milo[/name_m] and a [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] in our circle, so would prefer not to use them even in the middle (could[name_f][/name_f] possibly be persuaded on [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] because it was high on my list before friends used it!!). [name_m]Sidney[/name_m] is great and a family name. Thanks for your help!
[name_f][/name_f]
@kachenka[name_f][/name_f] thank you! Iāve been pondering [name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- it goes so nicely with my other middle of choice, [name_m]Hart[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Hart[/name_m] is [name_f][/name_f] and [name_m]Isidore[/name_m] was one of husbandās picks for our shortlist so that could be an option, too.
