I love [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]!! Great choice.

I agree. I love [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]! [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] are particularly lovely and sophisticated. [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is great as well, but the Il/[name_f]El[/name_f] sounds might be a bit too much.

My favorite is [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].

Good point about [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - the flow isn’t great.

Anyone have opinions about [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] vs. [name_f]Sibyl[/name_f]? The latter is the spelling of the word sibyl and I sort of like it, but Nameberry says [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] is more common in name form?

I personally prefer [name_f]Sybil[/name_f], because of a character association I’d like to keep. Plus it looks the most familiar and aesthetically pleasing visually in my opinion. Seeing as [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]/[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] in general isn’t used much anymore, I’m not sure how most would automatically spell it, but that might open up both spellings as options.

[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] (spelled this way) is one of my long-time loves. It’s very beautiful. I like [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] a lot. I have [name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] on my list.

Looks like it’s a tie between [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]! My two As You Like It-inspired names. It’s funny because I think of them as so opposite - [name_u]Arden[/name_u] seems modern, short, spunky, and gender-neutral, while [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is classic, long, and feminine!

I’m sort of partial to [name_f]Sibyl[/name_f], too, and @myosotis you make a good point about the fact that it’s so uncommon that no one is going to automatically spell it one way anyway. [name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] just carries a slightly more ancient, mysterious, powerfully feminine vibe to me, maybe because the association with the word is stronger. [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] makes me think more of flappers. Actually, I think I may like:

[name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_u]Arden[/name_u]
[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]

I’m also liking [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f], too, though - usually I wouldn’t want a middle that starts with the same letter as the last of the first name, but I just love the flow and the similar feel!
