Mila?

I’ve recently been loving the way the name [name_f]Mila[/name_f] looks, but I’m not sure on pronunciations…I’ve heard it pronounced like MEE-luh and like MY-luh, and I can see how MILL-uh could be a possibility too. Which do you like best?
Also, if I were to use [name_f]Mila[/name_f] as a nickname, what would a full name be?

I’ve only heard [name_f]Mila[/name_f] pronounced “MEE-la,” and I prefer this pronunciation. As for full names, my favorite is [name_f]Milena[/name_f], but I also like it as a nickname for your [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f].

Mee-la is the way I’ve always seen it pronounced.

when i first came across the name i always thought it was mill-uh as i knew a girl [name_f]Milla[/name_f] with that pronunciation but now i would say [name_f]Mila[/name_f] = mee-luh, [name_f]Milla[/name_f] = mill-uh

I’ve only heard it pronounced MEE-la. I think it’s a sweet name with a lovely meaning. I like it as a nickname for [name_f]Milena[/name_f] and [name_f]Milana[/name_f].

To me MY-la would be spelled [name_f]Myla[/name_f].

I’ve only heard it in person in Europe before, and there I’ve only heard MEE-la

I know a 9-yr old [name_f]Mila[/name_f] (UK) and it’s MEE-la if that helps. Very pretty non-fussy name!

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] is pronounced Mee-lah. My-lah would be [name_f]Myla[/name_f]. Both lovely names

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] could be a nickname for [name_f]Amilia[/name_f]

Definitely Mee-la. [name_f]Myla[/name_f] is a different name. [name_f]Mila[/name_f] is beautiful!

I say MEE-la. I prefer it as a nickname for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is also a cute nickname for them.

I really like it, and would pronounce it MEE-la.

I love [name_f]Mila[/name_f] (MEE-la, the only way i’ve ever known it pronounced) as a nickname for [name_f]Camila[/name_f] (ca-MEE-la), I think if you want the other pronunciations, you should go with [name_f]Myla[/name_f] or [name_f]Milla[/name_f].

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] is pretty. I’ve only heard it pronounced Mee-luh. I prefer it as a nn, & definitely think it could work for [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. I’ve known one [name_f]Mila[/name_f] who’s full name was [name_f]Camilla[/name_f]. Not the most pleasant child, & yet I still think that [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mila[/name_f] is gorgeous.

I say it as Mee-luh and I use it as a nickname for my favorite name [name_f]Camila[/name_f]!
It can be a nickname for [name_f]Camila[/name_f]/[name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Ludmila[/name_f], [name_f]Milena[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or even [name_u]Milan[/name_u].

hey there!

mila is such a pretty name. i would personally pronounce this as mee-la. the spelling milla i would pronounce as mill-uh and the spelling myla i would pronounce as my-luh. for full names with mila as the nickname, i would suggest:

camila
amelia/emilia
milan
melania
milena/malina

hope this helps :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

MEE-la. If you want MY-la then I’d go with [name_f]Myla[/name_f] and MILL-uh then go with [name_f]Milla[/name_f]. [name_f]Mila[/name_f] Kunis’ name is short for [name_f]Milena[/name_f], so there’s an option, but I think [name_f]Mila[/name_f] is gorgeous on its own.
