i love the name [name_f]Milana[/name_f] and [name_u]Milan[/name_u] but my sister is [name_f]Alana[/name_f] and while she never goes by [name_f]Lana[/name_f] (always Lans and [name_f]Lani[/name_f]), is Milana to close to Alana? would you use it? and especially on the off chance if they end up going by [name_f]Lana[/name_f]?

I’d still use it, but they are quite similar.
Honestly, I would ask your sister what she thinks! But I would suggest [name_u]Milan[/name_u] for this situation. I feel like nicknames for [name_f]Milana[/name_f] will be too similar to [name_f]Alana[/name_f]. [name_u]Milan[/name_u] is short and sweet, with little need for a nickname.

They are pretty close, but I think you could still use it. I would talk to her and see what she thinks.
I’d definitely still use it! You can call her [name_u]Milan[/name_u] if you want to try to avoid [name_f]Lana[/name_f].
