My wife and I are down to 2 names - [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Holt[/name_m] - for our baby boy and we are having trouble choosing one. Our last name is [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] and the middle name will be [name_u]James[/name_u] to give you an idea of how they would sound together. We are down to those two as we want something unique but not too “hipster” sounding :). Thanks for any input!
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] is handsome! I like [name_m]Holt[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] better together but I like [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] together better. So I’d vote those because they’ll be used more. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] is very handsome though, sounds like a smart sweet kid to me.
I love [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m]! [name_m]Miles[/name_m] is classic, cool (without being too hipster or trying too hard) and completely timeless. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] is such a handsome combo that flows wonderfully. [name_m]Holt[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] sounds a bit abrupt or choppy to me and I like [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] better than [name_m]Holt[/name_m] [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] too.
I think [name_m]Holt[/name_m] sounds very harsh. [name_m]Holt[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] doesn’t flow well in my opinion. But [name_m]Miles[/name_m] is a sweet name!
I like [name_m]Miles[/name_m]. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] flows a little better. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] is more recognised as a name than [name_m]Holt[/name_m] and [name_m]Holt[/name_m] is definitely the more “hip” name. So if you’re avoiding hipster names, [name_m]Miles[/name_m] might be the way to go. And if the middle name is going to be [name_u]James[/name_u], you might want to pick the more classic of the two names for matching style reasons ([name_m]Miles[/name_m] is a pretty old name, while [name_m]Holt[/name_m] is relatively new).
I hope you choose the name best for your family!
[name_m]Holt[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]! But, [name_m]Miles[/name_m] is great as well.
I like [name_m]Miles[/name_m]! [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] sounds smooth and classic, and [name_m]Holt[/name_m] seems a little too choppy and more ‘hipstery’
I adore [name_m]Miles[/name_m]. I think having a [name_m]Miles[/name_m] will make naming future children (if there will be future children) easier than having a [name_m]Holt[/name_m].
I am probably biased, but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and have for a long time. I think it works perfectly with the middle and last.
[name_m]Miles[/name_m], definitely! [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] sort of clashes a bit, but [name_m]Holt[/name_m] seems way too harsh and curt. I tried saying it out loud and “test driving” it by using it in different tones and sentences, and it always feels and sounds like I’m yelling at some imaginary little boy. [name_m]Holt[/name_m] is different, but [name_m]Miles[/name_m] works better. Best of luck!
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m]!
I love [name_m]Miles[/name_m]! It’s one of my top boy names, and I think it flows wonderfully with your last name and middle choice. It definitely gets my vote
I really love [name_m]Holt[/name_m]! It sounds great with [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] too!
Neither of those With [name_u]James[/name_u] really strike me, though I love [name_m]Miles[/name_m]. I just can’t pair it with [name_u]James[/name_u]. Here are some ideas:
