Military themed middle name

Hey there Berries! I am in search of some middle names for a girl that could be used to honor military service. My husband and I both served ( I did 11 years and he did 10) in the Navy. All of our grandfathers served in different branches as well so to honor them we want to use the middle name spot. Our boy name will have the middle “Valor” but we can’t come up with a girls name. We like double middles so the more options the merrier and if you want to add to our first name list that would be great too! Our top contenders for the first name are

Winnie
Meadow
Madeline
Madelyn
Dayna
Guinevere
Everly
Sunday
Jewel
Autumn
Reese
Destry
Delaynie
Wednesday
Devina
Devri

Thanks! Can’t wait to hear what you all come up with :hugs:

You can use [name_u]Navy[/name_u] as a middle, I like [name_u]Reese[/name_u] Navy!

No reason why [name_u]Valor[/name_u] wouldn’t work equally well as a girl middle. I think it’s quite lovely. [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_u]Valor[/name_u] would be my top pick.

Maybe a name from this list: Military Baby Names

I also think Navy or Valor could work well as a MN.

How about Miles? It means soldier but I think it could work as a middle. Female equivalent is [name_f]Myla[/name_f]
[name_u]Honor[/name_u] is a good one too
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] means mighty in battle.

Hmm, Bravery, Honour?
Matilda has a battle-esque meaning, I think something like Winnie Matilda Bravery, or Guinevere Bravery could be showstopping.
I think Valor would be beautiful for a girl as well though <3

I think [name_u]Navy[/name_u] would work, for sure. [name_f]Maud[/name_f] also means mighty in battle, [name_f]Edith[/name_f] means prosperous in war, [name_u]Louise[/name_u] means renowned warrior and [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] means brave as a bear. Something like [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Maud[/name_f], [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] [name_f]Maud[/name_f], [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] [name_f]Maud[/name_f] or [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] would be stunning!

Thank you for your service! I come from a military family myself, and have considered options to honor my own family’s service? [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite options:

[name_u]March[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] (“noble strength” which seems to epitomize military service to me?)
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] (love the symbolism with veterans and poppies! [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] is on my list because of this)

I especially love [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] [name_u]March[/name_u] or [name_u]Everly[/name_u] March/Everly Poppy…

I also love [name_u]Finley[/name_u], which has a meaning to do with warriors, but would only use it for a boy myself.

It would probably seem much more bizarre and maybe stupid to an actual veteran, but I love the idea of using one of the more namey characters in the military alphabet… I think something like [name_u]Sierra[/name_u], [name_f]Delta[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_u]Echo[/name_u], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], etc., could make a fun middle for a military family? I like the idea of [name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_f]Delta[/name_f] or [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] or [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] here!

And since you and your husband were both [name_u]Navy[/name_u], maybe it would be appropriate to use one of the ships you’ve served on? Someone recommended this to me when I looked for ideas years ago, but my family was all [name_f]Air[/name_f] Force, not Navy…

Good luck!

I really love March! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that one yet! And it’s not dumb to use the military alphabet it’s actually really clever! [name_f]Every[/name_f] [name_f]Delta[/name_f] is super pretty. Thank you!

I agree, [name_u]Valor[/name_u] is also a great virtue for girls, and it doesn’t seem very gendered to me
