I am naming my daughter [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] after her grandmother. We already have a [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] in the family. I would really love to call her [name_f]Millie[/name_f] but I don’t see it on any [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] nickname lists.
What do you think of a [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] called [name_f]Millie[/name_f]?
Does it work? Or too much of a stretch?
To me [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] are miles apart. For [name_f]Millie[/name_f] I think of [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and such. Nicknames that make me think [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] besides [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] are [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Meg[/name_f] or [name_f]Margo[/name_f]. If you have the option maybe save [name_f]Millie[/name_f] for a sibling, [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] sound kind of cute together.
I think it would only make sense if her middle name was something L-heavy like [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] = [name_f]Millie[/name_f]. Sure.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]? [name_f]Peggy[/name_f]? [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]?
Names that [name_f]Millie[/name_f] could be a nickname for - [name_f]Mildred[/name_f], [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] are the first that come to mind. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] to me. [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is a fine name by itself too I think.
