I really love both [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Asher[/name]. I do think [name]Asher[/name] is more in danger of becoming popular because of the familiar “[name]Ash[/name]” sound. I voted for [name]Milo[/name]

1 [name]Milo[/name] - spunky and still quirky with a cool “o” ending. Cute, cuddly, friendly and upbeat with an English vibe. Charming!
2 [name]Luca[/name] - Italian form of [name]Luke[/name]. I find it bold and tough even with the “a” ending. Starting to be considered for girls.
3 [name]Asher[/name] - a Biblical name with a more contemporary sound with the popular “[name]Ash[/name]” beginning and “er” ending.

I predict that all of these names will become more popular. [name]Both[/name] [name]Lucas[/name] and [name]Luke[/name] are in the US top 40 in 2011 and [name]Hilary[/name] [name]Duff[/name] named her son [name]Luca[/name] this year. [name]Asher[/name] was at No# 113 in 2011 so I wouldn’t be surprised if it hit the top 100 in 2012. [name]Miles[/name] was at No# 115, [name]Myles[/name] at No# 238 and [name]Milo[/name] was No# 361 (only 826 boys).

  1. [name]Asher[/name]- I have always loved the name [name]Asher[/name] since reading “The Giver,” so that name wins my vote. Sadly, I’ll never use it b/c it doesn’t go with my last name.

  2. [name]Luca[/name]- I love the sound of [name]Luca[/name]; nice twist on [name]Luke[/name].

  3. [name]Milo[/name]- [name]Milo[/name] is also nice, but I put it 3rd b/c in my area (Midwest US) it’s definitely popular, especially as a middle name.

While I think all 3 names have the potential to be popular (since they’re great names), from my own observations, I see [name]Milo[/name] as being the most frequently used.

I like all of them. We have had them on our list for # 2, but sadly my husband decided that he didn’t want to use [name]Luca[/name] or [name]Asher[/name] so now we only have [name]Milo[/name] left.
I think [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] might gain more popularity than [name]Luca[/name]. [name]Luca[/name] is also the name I think goes best with your daughter’s name.

I like [name]Milo[/name] best - simple, classy and fits any age. [name]Luca[/name] is a good name too, just a little harsher sounding and maybe won’t age as well. I also really don’t like [name]Luke[/name], so might be concerned that this would become a nn. Not keen on [name]Asher[/name] - too religious and the ever-popular ‘[name]Ash[/name]’ sound. I think [name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] sound good together, and the shared ‘o’ is a nice link.

I like [name]Milo[/name] best; it’s not as popular, has a nice sound, and will age well. I also agree with the poster that said it will go nice with your daughter [name]Rowan[/name].

I like [name]Asher[/name], but I know at least 5 [name]Asher[/name]'s age 3 and under, so if you don’t want a popular name, I wouldn’t go with this.

And [name]Luca[/name], I know a 5 year old [name]Luca[/name], he’s adorable and the name fits him, but I don’t know if he’ll grow into it well. It’s kind of girly because of the -a ending, something to consider.

I think [name]Milo[/name] is your best bet.

  • Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the feedback, seems pretty evenly split. I am worried about [name]Asher[/name]'s popularity. It seems like it’s skyrocketing. But I have loved it for years so its hard to let it go. :frowning: I do think [name]Milo[/name] goes best with [name]Rowan[/name], [name]Luca[/name] is masculine but in a very European way so people in the US might mistake it for a girls name. [name]Milo[/name] is recognizably male but still soft.

I like [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Asher[/name] a lot! [name]Asher[/name] got my vote, though, I absolutely love it. I can see it shooting up the charts, but I do agree with the pp who said that [name]Milo[/name] would get used the most often. I just hear [name]Miles[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] being discussed everywhere! It seems like it’s about to explode, especially if an A-list celebrity uses it ([name]Alyssa[/name] [name]Milano[/name] already used it for her son).

[name]Asher[/name] was on my own list and I do love it but I feel [name]Milo[/name] is adorable too and a great match with [name]Rowan[/name]. I also like [name]Luca[/name] a lot and I know it is masculine but sounds like it could be feminine to me ([name]Rowan[/name] can do either way too so that might work). I really like all of your choices.

  1. [name]Milo[/name]
  2. [name]Luca[/name]
  3. [name]Asher[/name]

To be honest, I think they’re all on the rise…but I’m not savvy enough to hazard a guess on which will skyrocket first (or the most). I adore [name]Milo[/name] and would use it myself if there wasn’t a bit of cultural clashing (my potential in-laws are Australian and it’s a very popular milk product there I guess). I’ve also loved [name]Luca[/name] since I was a young girl. [name]Asher[/name] I’ve just never been able to get into. I don’t generally like the “[name]Ash[/name]” sound.

I love [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Asher[/name] and think [name]Luca[/name] is nice, as well. My feeling is that [name]Asher[/name] has the potential to become most popular out of these names.

I love both [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Asher[/name], but I voted for [name]Asher[/name] because I feel [name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Asher[/name] are better as siblings. There’s too much O going on with [name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Milo[/name], and I love the subtle tree vibe between [name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Asher[/name], but that they’re not at all matchy.

[name]Luca[/name] I fear is going to take off since several celebs have used him for a baby name.

I love [name]Luca[/name] best, [name]Asher[/name] is okay but [name]Milo[/name] is NMS, I think I know too many cats of the same name!

I love little [name]Milo[/name]. All those choices are great, but there’s something extra special about [name]Milo[/name] <3
