Mini Dachshund Puppy

I’ve been lurking for ages, hoping to find the perfect name without posting a thread myself (I can’t lie, I’m a bit nervous to do this for the first time!) but it seems I need to take out the big guns - my new baby girl needs a name.

At the moment she’s only five weeks old, so I won’t actually be taking her home for a few more weeks. However, the breeder would like to know what I plan on naming her sooner rather then later (She has to register her, and would prefer to have the documents ready when I pick her up.) and I’m anxious to have the perfect name decided.

She’s a beautiful reddish brown colour, with dark brown eyes, and her ears are tipped in black. As the title says, she’s a mini dachshund.

I’m looking for a familiar, but still unique name. One of those names that if I say it my whole family won’t stare at me like I’m nuts, but absolutely not a name I hear frequently. I know that’s vague, but other then that I’m fairly open-minded. I would prefer if the name was ‘short and sweet’ (Two syllables?) or has an optional nickname, though. Absolutely nothing too ‘doggy.’ I want more of a people name.

I have a giant family, and apparently we all love pets, so unfortunately there are a lot of ‘off-limit’ names. There are just too many to list.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing what people come up with. Thanks for the help!

EDIT:

Alright, since you asked; (Names I absolutely cannot use. The ones I like are bolded, but even if they were possible, none seem quite right.)

Chloe
Genevieve
Adele
Charlotte
Sophie

Amelia
Portia

Daisy
Cassandra/Cassie
Madeleine
Elle/Ella
Poppy
Rose
Layla
Grace/Gracie
Lucy
Maggie
Pearl
Stella

What are some names you like that you can’t use? That will give us a little direction when offering opinions.

Otherwise my suggestion is Wienerette.

From your list, I like [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Daisy[/name], [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Poppy[/name] (these dogs have a lot of energy!). For a [name]German[/name] breed like a Dachshund, why not try go with something Teutonic.

What about [name]Vada[/name]? Or the original spelling, [name]Veda[/name]. Like from My Girl. Then she’d not only have a movie namesake, but a song too. “i’v got sunshine on a cloudy day. When it’s cold outside, i’v got the month of may. I heard you say, what could make me feel this way? My girl, my girl, my girl, talkin bout my girl. My girl!” Cute right? lots of luck!
