[name]Just[/name] looked it up, apparently it can be pn both ways!
Name: [name]Minna[/name]
Phonetic Pronunciation #1: MEE-nuh
Phonetic Pronunciation #2: MIH-nuh
http://www.forvo.com/word/minna/ has three different people from around the world saying the name and all sound like they are using MIH-nuh pn.
Also, Facebook has a [name]Minna[/name]'s of the World group. Facebook Public Group | Facebook
I like it said [name]Min[/name]-uh. I also like [name]Mina[/name], Mine-uh and [name]Mimi[/name]- Me-me.
I would definitely pronounce [name]Minna[/name] ‘mihn-uh’, because of the double N. [name]Mina[/name] would be mee-nuh. I think both are absolutely adorable as nicknames for [name]Minerva[/name], [name]Jessamine[/name], [name]Araminta[/name], [name]Wilhelmina[/name], etc.
I prefer Mih-nuh, we have [name]Mina[/name] for the other prn. I really love this name, as well as [name]Minnie[/name].
By English pronunciation rules, this would be a short I. However, Eastern Europeans use the name/nickname [name]Milla[/name], which they say with a long E sound. So I’d be quite hesitant about pronunciation.
I thought Mee-nah
