My husband really loves the name [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] for a little girl. He’s even in love with Miry as a nickname. Part of me really likes it but I’m worried about how it ages. I can’t imagine a baby or a grandma [name_f]Miranda[/name_f]. And I feel like it’s a little bland and a little country. But it sounds feminine and I have to admit I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Lin[/name_f]-[name_m]Manuel[/name_m] and all of his work.
We’ve thought of a few middle names but Short middle names make it feel more country, I think?
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] have both been shot down as middle names, but he kind of likes [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. Are those too much with [name_f]Miranda[/name_f]?
Other names on our list:
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Angelica[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f]
I really like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] on your list. [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] does have a very nice sound. I kind of agree most short names are problematic and do sound more country with [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], especially [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] a lot.
Here’s a few I thought of:
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Honor[/name_f]
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] Valency
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it sounds weird if the second name also ends in an a? I mostly think so, but maybe if the rhythm is different it could work:
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Katia[/name_f]
I’m not sure these match your style, but it is what came to mind.
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] is pretty! I also like [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I think sticking to a shorter last name would be best though.
I like [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] & [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of those.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]?
Other than the association with the country singer [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_m]Lambert[/name_m], I don’t get a country vibe with [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] at all. I think of [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] as being elegant and Shakespearean. My favorite of the combos currently in the running are your husband’s choices of [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (although the fact that you could use Miry [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and Miry [name_u]Jo[/name_u] as nicknames could up the country vibe you’re trying to avoid), along with [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], especially with its [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] connection through the character in The [name_f]Tempest[/name_f]! I don’t think it’s country at all! [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sounds Renaissance to me, in an elegant way. [name_m]Just[/name_m] thought of [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], though, which I think is super pretty!
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] is a beautiful name! It’s underused yet familiar. You have many beautiful choices, but [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] gets my vote since your husband loves it and has made that emotional connection. I think [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is precious.
My DH loves this name, as well, and I found myself trying to love it more; I do love the Shakespearean roots and would never think “country” when hearing [name_f]Miranda[/name_f]. It strikes me more so as “sophisticated and scholarly”.
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] is my favorite combo.
