[name]Miranda[/name] has been on my mind lately. While I typically like “weird” names, my husband likes names that actually have a history of being used as names, so I know he would go for this one. Is it dated or would it be fresh on a baby?
[name]Love[/name] it. I think it would definitely feel fresh, it’s not dated in the sense of being tied to a very specific time or place. It’s Shakespearian, so it carries that kind of class, and has good nn options if you want them.
I’m not a huge fan. It’s a bit dated to me, and reminds me to the least-pleasant character on Sex and the City.
I love it too. I don’t see it as a dated name either and I definitely think it’d be fresh on a baby now. I like [name]Ariel[/name] as well.
I think it’s a cute name, although growing up we had a family friend who spelled it [name]Myranda[/name], which I prefer for some reason.
I love it!
It’s one of my favorites. I think it’s so pretty and musical and the nicknames are great. I love [name]Mira[/name] or [name]Miri[/name].
I only know one [name]Miranda[/name] and unfortunately she ruined the name for me.
Thanks! I think I like the nickname [name]Andi[/name] for it.
I really love the name [name]Miranda[/name]. It’s easily recognizable, spelled and yet fairly underused. It peaked in the 1980s at #84. That’s not popular enough to make it a generation defining name. I was born in the late 70s and don’t know a single person with that name. So I really don’t see it as dated. It makes me think of a very feminine and sweet girl.
I love the literary connection with [name]Miranda[/name] as well as the nicknames: [name]Mira[/name], [name]Randy[/name], [name]Andy[/name], [name]Ira[/name]. Beautiful name.
This is a name that I really want to love, but for some reason I can’t. I like the [name]Shakespeare[/name] connection, and the fact that it’s recognizable but not commonly used. I don’t think it’s dated at all. But for some reason I don’t fully like it… maybe because I read The Devil Wears Prada when I was pretty young, I had never heard the name [name]Miranda[/name] before, and it was the name of the evil overbearing boss in the book. so that’s the unfortunate association that I can never really shake!
I do know a young, very beautiful, blonde [name]Miranda[/name] though.
I like it. I know a couple [name]Miranda[/name]'s, and it does feel slightly dated, but I think it could still work.
I have one and only one association - Miranda battles with the automated operator - Miranda, Series 2 Episode 6 - BBC Two - YouTube
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Hart[/name], who’s a British comedian, and definitely a good association I just can’t picture anyone else with the name!
It has such a happy, upbeat sound to it and I’d love to meet a little girl named [name]Miranda[/name]. And ‘[name]Miri[/name]’ is just adorable beyond words.
I love the name [name]Miranda[/name], especially for its literary connections.
I think [name]Miranda[/name] is gorgeous! I love it!
I adore [name]Miranda[/name]. I mean, I adore pretty much every Shakespearean name, but [name]Miranda[/name] is just lovely.
[name]Miranda[/name] is so timeless to me. I was surprised to see that anyone thought it was even slightly dated, it has never been that common of a name. I love the meaning “admirable” and the nn [name]Miri[/name].
