Mirror Twins

I have a set of male twin characters around the age of sixteen. They have brown hair and brown eyes, and are mirror images of each other. Ex: one is right handed, while the other is left handed. They have birthmarks on opposite cheeks. Etc. They also have opposite personalities. One twin is calm and collected, while the other is brave and wild.

The calm twin is called [name_u]Galen[/name_u].

The wild twin is called [name_u]Everett[/name_u].

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think this works well? I’ve been mulling over [name_m]Evert[/name_m] instead of [name_u]Everett[/name_u]… but I’m not sure. Opinions welcome.

I like [name_u]Everett[/name_u] better for him. I’m not sure how to say [name_m]Evert[/name_m] and it sounds kind of nerdy (which isn’t a bad thing, it just doesn’t fit him).

I hear what you’re saying. I like the sound of [name_u]Everett[/name_u] better, too. It’s just sometimes I feel [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is too contemporary, and my story is set circa 19th century. [name_m]Evret[/name_m] (ev - writ) sounds older to me somehow. What do you think? Is [name_u]Everett[/name_u] out of place for his time?

Their parents are Eleanor and Gabriel (Gabe) Townsend. Gabe is fun loving and care free, while Eleanor is the sensible one in the relationship. Perhaps the most unsensible thing Eleanor ever did was marry Gabe. She was from a noble family, but had to give up her birthright to Mary Gabe… he was below her station, but she was in love! Ya know?

Thanks for the reply.

I think that [name_u]Everett[/name_u] would be great for the character!

Cool, cool, cool. Thanks for reassuring me about [name_u]Everett[/name_u], you guys. [name_f]Do[/name_f] yo think [name_u]Galen[/name_u] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] make a good twin/[name_f]Sib[/name_f] set?

They’re both unisex, so that’s one connection between [name_u]Galen[/name_u] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] that makes them seem a little more coherent. I think they go well together.

That’s true, and also their parents have names with the initials G and E, as well. Thanks for the reply.

To be honest, I would switch the names.
